Is PPC better than SEO ?

PPC is a short term fix however SEO in the longer run would be more effective. It depends what keywords you are fighting over. If you have some highly sought after keywords its going to be hard to get your self high up on rankings.

Is this another 'spec me a costumer magnet' thread in the making?

What are PPC and SEO:confused:
See above.
Basically they're 2 options for generating visitors to your website:)

Keywords would involve, baths, taps, sinks etc. I'd guess so they're fairly highly sought after;)

Interesting, I have a website I wish to promote and attract customers to(costumers are welcome to visit too of course), must investigate these.

I agree with this. I worked on SEO for my last company, and it's a minefield but it's good fun and does have a longer lasting result getting assuming you can get decent ranking. We were top on Google news searches at least once a day and I still have the screenshot of my very first one. Get your copy written carefully and professionally and be careful who you link to.

/geek :p

PPC = Pay per click.
SEO = Search Engine Optimisation

Pay Per Click is how you get in to the sponsored listings in google, you choose a search term like "Chrome finish taps" and specify the maximum you are willing to pay to be top on google when that term is entered. Then for each person that clicks the link you pay google that much money.

It is better to be very specific with the terms you bid for, so bidding for "taps" would be bad as there would be lots competing for the term plus you have less chance of selling the actual product you want to sell, but still paying for clicks, cos people searching for stop taps could still bring up your site in the sponsors, then click through and you pay for someone who is just gonna click back.

SEO is how you get your site in the natural rankings which is obviously better as it means you are not paying for people clicking through to your site. However is SEO is harder as you need to design your site in a very precise and structured format so as get google and the other search engines to put you at the top of their rankings. One of the best ways of achieving this though is by getting lots of relevant sites to link to your site.

There are companies you can pay for both, who will either help your redesign your site for SEO or manage your PPC account(s), which is quite a specialised job when done correctly.

If your looking for someone to do either I know someone running his own SEO company who I can pass you the details for.

Hi reflections

If you are serious about finding out more about Search engine optimisation, and Pay-per-click campaigns, I will be more than happy to steer you in the right direction and help you get started.

I have written some guides on both subjects (and plagiarised) that I'm happy to share with you.

Are there any specific questions you would like to ask about the two subjects, since your question is quite vague

Thank u all for your nice tips.

Yes, I am serious about search engine optimization and PPC.
From the above discussion it is clear that make your site search engine friendly first and then start PPC.

PPC is one-time investment in bringing relevant traffic to your website. SEO is a long-term oriented work that has better ranking in SE as a goal. SEO aims at organic search improvements and is rather a promotion strategy than anything else, while PPC is basically advertising (and expensive one).
