I want to overclock, but also i am wondering if this board is still a good board to get, i'v heard that its a really stable board but i want one future proof because in the future i will be upgrading to DDR3 and the i7.

So guys, if not, what is a STABLE future proof board that i can get? Limit is £300. I do want it to be an excellent board also, i am sure i can get one for the price.

The 790's are good boards and will overclock pretty good but I was faced with a similar decision and decided just to go the whole hog and go i7. I reasoned that buying a 790 was wasted money as I was gonna go i7 at some point anyway.

I know its more than you want to spend but this would be future proof-

All the X58 boards support both SLI and CrossFire (except the Intel Smackover), as far as I am aware.

Thats not correct I know the lowest MSI board (X58 Platinum) does not support SLI, I would expect some other manufacturers to release non SLI enabled boards.
