Is the D5 really quieter than a DDC?

I have both pumps though have only ever used the DDC in my loop.

I am thinking of going to an alphacool tube res-top for either pump.

Obviously the D5 takes up a bit more room but would consider it if it's quieter overall.

Thank you gents.
I prefer the look of the Alphacool Eisbecher D5 version it's meatier too. I just have a boggo standard D5 but at least their speed is variable. My DDC is currently on 12V and bless it does emit some noise.

Thanks for the input time to retire my faithful DDC.

I have the Maximus Hero X coming which has a high current (3A) pump header but as my DDC is not PWM i'm not sure you it will work though did read it can be for pure DC control too?

After my aquero system failed to start my pump twice (on one occasion frying two GPUs!) I now believe in pumps being 'hard-wired' into the PSU hence my interest in using the D5 which just has a simple Molex connector on the end!

I had no alarm setup but end of the day it didn't power my pump on twice would you trust it again if it were you?
Why am I now going to risk my new 8600k and GTX 1080 to such a system.
Their software was broken from day one and now they want me to pay to continue using it/upgrade no thanks all it's good for is showing the rough temp of my water and controlling my fans.

I'm butt hurt sure but I had over £500 of gpus melt on me because of it. I just won't use their products again for imprtant things
