Its for my HTPC/Gaming PC, i was going go with the HD 6850, ive only just got into pc gaming, so is the HD 5770 still good a year on!!

It depends on what res you gaming at. If it is 1920 res, your 5770 will definitely start to show its age for the newer titles.

If considering needing the extra power, you could consider the MSI ATI Radeon HD 5850 Twin FrozR II that OcUK is taking pre-orders on at the moment:

The 5850 is around 10% faster than a 6850/GTX460 1GB, and at just £125 it is a huge bargin. I myself placed the pre-order for it yesterday.

my 5770 plays everything i through at it.

just got black op's and runs very smooth with a q6600 and 8gb ram on a 24" monitor at 1920 res.

I have an Asus 5770 and it plays starcraft 2 on ultra and most things like bioshock well on med/high settings. Its a good card but as marine pointed out the 5850 is a steal at that price. Though ocuk are doing the 6850 for a tenner more with codmw2.

I cant decide what to upgrade fomr my 5770 to, or even if I should bother upgrading.

Most 5770 owners are in the same position. Until amd release optimised 6 series drivers we're on the fence, and the longer they leave it the closer the 560 gets :-/

Mmmm, was thinking 5850 but the MSI doesn't oc well according to reviews, which leaves the 6850 for a tenner more with a free game. May have to wait then
