Is the Impreza RB320 the last SE of this shape?

Hi,

A friend is very close to trading in his WR1 for an RB320

However the receptionist at the Subaru dealership hinted that there maybe another special edition Impreza still to come out. The salesman denied this, but then he would. Obviously my friend is very keep on the RB320 and is having to pay more than the RRP of £30k as they are all demanding premiums at the moment. But he does not want to do this if another SE is around the corner, that he could order for RRP and will be the definitive last SE of this shape before they ditch the Impreza Saloon for the dodgy new one and will therefore be even more of a collectors car.

If anyone has any thoughts or has heard anything it would be appreciated.

Cheers :)

If he can afford it, go for the RB. The GB270 is just a way for Subaru to clear out some of the remaining cars before the new shape comes in. It's basically a WRX PPP with some different paint and wheels, and at £23,000, isn't exactly cheap. Brand new STis can be had for under £20k.

I'd much rather have the RB320, it's in a different league to that GB270.
Agreed. He just wanted to be sure that another beastly version was going to come out after he had shelled out a lot of money!

Thanks for finding the info chaps.

Much as I like the RB I think your friend can get a much better car for his money - if anything he'll be going from one marketing ploy to another.

The WR1 was just a UK car given DCCD before they all got DCCD-A, posh wheels and a colour you couldn't get in this country.

The RB320 doesn't really have anything mechanically different to a UK STI.

Spec C Type RA - same money, better car.

I passed one of those yesterday and wondered what it was! Really nice in real life!

Wanted to get a video of him hooning it passed me, but he didnt! :(

Josh

EDIT- Didnt know it was that rare, only 320 made!
