heyy. just wanna ask some opinions of people with logitech G25 wheels. are they any good? do they work well? was thinking of buying one, but dont wanna spend £120 on something that isnt much good xD
Thanks

It's excellent. And I only owned mine for a few days. Takes getting used to, but build quality is ace. Once you get used to it, I can imagine it being beautiful.

It's the joint best wheel on the market along side the G27, i use mine for hardcore sim racing (Endurance racing to pick up races), it's really smooth to use and requires no real force to move the wheel.

If your gonna just use the wheel for games like grid/dirt/NFS then i would not speed the money on it, i would just use a joypad but your set on buying i would say go for it because the money it's going for now is pretty good for how long it's been out for.

Some company with be cheaper then others so shop around for the best deal you can find.

I've had my G25 since august 2008 now, it see's pretty heavy usage on a daily basis and it's been faultless.

However as mentioned it does depend what you're playing, a more arcadey racing game doesn't, imo, warrant such an expensive wheel (eg something like the Driving Force GT would be 99% as good for a good chunk less), but if you've got the money and you want the G25 then you certainly can't go wrong :)

i've used one a few times and it's great, i own a driving force gt but after playing with the G25 i wish i'd forked out that bit extra. the clutch and gears make it so much more realistic.

It's supurb, even after reading extremely positive reviews you will be surprised how good it is on the right game set up correctly.

I bought one about 18mths ago and it's superb, well worth the cost..

dont listen to people who say its no good for arcade games as thats bs !! whether you play rFactor or GRiD it adds depth to them all .... go and BUY ONE!!

I have had mine for about 18 months and it is great.

I use it for sims and arcade games as well as Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3.

I would say though, having owned a Logitech Momo previous to the G25, it's not a massive step up. But then again I paid £90 for the Momo and £125 for the G25, so I shouldn't expect a massive leap.

If you don't want to spend £125, then I can recommend the Logitech Momo if you can get one. Some good ones on popular auction sites.

I have a momo at the moment and Im looking to upgrade it. So the G25 isnt a big improvement?

The biggest difference is the six speed gear box and the clutch, neither of which I really use. The build quality is better and you have the steel pedals and wheel and the leather. But in terms of difference in feel in game between the Momo and the G25 the difference isn't massive.

What the G25 allows you to do, that the Momo doesn't, is simulate driving a Mondeo. It has 900 degrees of rotation, a clutch, leather steering wheel and a six speed gear box and a push down reverse.

The trouble is, non of the games you play are simulating driving a Mondeo around town, so all of those feature are kind of redundant.

So if your Momo is still in good working order then I would say stick with it.

haha :P well spotted me a logitech G25 for £100!! was gonna buy from ocuk for £120 but they raised there price :( cant wait. never had a proper wheel before!

I got the wheel back a couple of years ago now (one broke but Logitech swiftly replaced it)

The wheel is only as good as the games you play with it...

Live for Speed
iRacing
GTR Evolution
rFactor
Richard Burns Rally

I have them, but mainstream games never tend to be that good with it.

It works with the PS3 too, so GT5 should be brilliant. Doesn't bizarrely work for the xbox360.

I'd only get this wheel if your well into your sims, your best purchase to go with the wheel I would definitely suggest Live for Speed if you haven't already got it. If you get well WELL into that, iRacing is the way to go but its expensive.

I've had my G25 for about 2 years now.I'll be honest in saying that i have considered selling it a few times to get some much needed cash together, but when i fire up a game (most recently Dirt2) i am just blown away at how good it is and how much it throws you into a game. I'll never sell mine.

I too have thought the above, got the wheel 2 days after its release and at times wondered why i paid so much for it, but i just cant bring myself to get rid.

I will say this though about it, when you are turning the wheel fast it can be a bit noisy, thats due to the Dual motors, and Main cog with a slipper cog behind it.

if your into racing games , shift, nfs, dirt2, grid etc then def get the g25. a lot cheaper when a lot off us bought it a year ago.

LOL. Cheers. I quite fancied a clutch and 900 rotation. If the wheel feel is similar then its not worth it. I take it the pedals feel similar? Id quite like more feeling in brake pedal.

Think Ill look at the Fanatec RS stuff.
