Today, i parked down a road opposite my school but very close to another car ,not blocking it at all as their wasnt another car behind it, and one of the "kind" residants of this road decided to block me in. Though it wasnt an accident, they went ouf their way and even blocked their own drive to the point where their car was almost touching mine. I ended up ringing a friend to come and guide me out, but that still took ages.

just wondering if their is any kind of law about it so i can get the guys car towed next time :)

Best thing is not to park so closely to other cars.

Job done without the police involved or anyone hitting your car when they try to get out. ;)

haha, i did have the urge to revese into him but bah, damage to my car.

and i had to park close to the other car to get into the spot.

i recon i should have got someone else to block him in, im sure he would have loved that

Like he said always leave yourself room to get out just incase someone parks behind you. Also don't expect much sympathy from the locals when parking in a residential area for school/Uni etc they will call the police block you in and generally try to do anything they can to put you off!

Get your friend to park behind them, so they are blocked between you and your friend. Lock your cars and come back for them later !!!

With large key marks running the length of them and some dog turd hidden under the handles, can't win im afraid mate, just park with half a car space either side of you, greedy but effective :D

I know a guy who used to live in a town centre, every lunchtime when he went home there'd be the same car parked in his residents only space. He used to leave notes on the cars windscreen (owner was never about and car had gone by the time he got home) but the guy still parked there. The owner of the space used to do a fair bit of offroading, trials etc. so he had a winch on the front of the Land Rover he drove at the time. One lunchtime he finally lost it, hooked his winch to the front of the offending car and winched it into the middle of the road.

Not that I'm suggesting you find somone with a winch.

buy one towing hitch then leave a good amount of space infront of your car.....

(nb i don't reccomend doing this - in reality just leave a decent gap around you went you park and try and be cortious to local residents :))

i would love for some berk to try and block me on, i have a 200 quid work car and nice toe-bar in the back, so reversing into someone wouldnt be a problem :D

So you weren't blocked in then?

If you managed to get out without moving the other persons car then surely there was no problem, it was a little tight granted, but you managed it. :)

lol it was extremly tight, i must admit i nudged the guy slightly, but on my own it was physically impossible to get out. i had to move about 1mm then full lock, 1 mm back, full lock.....took a while

is there a law against parking accross 3 spaces because I kicked a dent into some dudes car for that before
They are cracking down on it round here. You get a note under your wipers for "straddling".

.... on a side note I also hear they are cracking down on petty vandalism....
