is their a law about blocking people in?

good way of getting out (done this before!) is to get the car mats and get a mate to put them infront of your rear bumper so as to not scratch the car. Revers slowly until touching the other car and "push" it a bit.. this will only work if their hand brake aint so good though.

You should see on-street parking in Paris...
The residents don't think twice about touch parking, or pushing other cars down the street to create a space. Then again if your car doesn't have at least three decent dents and some missing plastic trim then you might as well paint a target on it. Thinking it through it probably explains why most French cars are made so badly - why bother making it sturdy if it's going to get bashed anyway....
As far as I'm aware there's nothing at can be enforced regards getting blocked in on the street. You can get the Police involved if someone blocks access to private property (eg Driveway) as keeps happening to my parents whenever Sale Sharks play at home...
Oh and what happened to the guys car after it was winched into the road?
