hi im after a good steering wheel for using on the pc and will be getting a few good games to use it with.

is it better to use a steering wheel than a gamepad as i always thought they would be a hinderance more than an improvement

is there a good xbox steering wheel i can use with an adapter or do they not work well, i have an xbox and thought the kids could use it too but i would only be using it on the pc.

so should i buy a dedicated pc steering wheel or is there a good xbox one i could use?

i see people recommend the logitech driving force pro which is a ps2 wheel do you need an adapter for that, i have seen it at £63 but think thats a bit much for a gaming device.

what are some really good driving games worth getting for the pc?

You really only want a wheel for PC driving games that are Sim games, where you need high precision Steering, throttle control and brake control. Games like Need for Speed Underground etc don't really *need* a wheel, as they can be played well enough on a joypad. That is, my personal opinion, I'm sure some would disagree.

Games that really do need a steering wheel, just because it's nigh on impossible to drive well with any other type of controller would be:
GTR
GT Legends
Live for Speed
Grand Prix Legends

To name a few. These are very good driving games, but they certainly are not for everybody, as they can be too difficult and have a steep learning curve for some people that just want to go out and drive in an arcadey race game.

The Driving Force Pro is an excellent wheel so I am told, and is very good on PC driving gaes when you havethe USB adapter for it.

my xbox is the ol xbox so i would assume there a few wheels available for it. whether they are any good i dont know, i just thought if i bought a wheel it would be best buying one suitable for xbox and pc.

i do prefer the arcade type racing games although i have not tried the sim type but i enjoyed nfs most wanted on the xbox and was thinking of similar games for the pc, i like the rally games too.

are the wheels still good to use with arcade racing games or are game pads still best

I personally don't really play the arcade style racing games, but I'm sure a wheel is perfectly fine for use with them.
