Is there a "Spider Season" ?

My cat does nothing to catch spiders, recently he was lying on the floor and one just crawled right over him to get under the sofa.
Having send that I don't really mind spiders in the house they don't do any harm and normally will run away from you. Although the other night I was a bit disturbed to see a massive spider in the jaws of an even bigger spider, legs were squirming and eventually it was dragged underneath the radiator.

According to wiki, the giant house spider (pictured above) holds the WR for spidy speed - 9.73 ft/s (2.97 m/s)!

I act all macho when the wife screams after spotting one as I swagger over and scoop them up with a cup/pint pot but secretly **** myself. :o

I cannot stand spiders, absolutely papped my pants when i was playing wow and a huge one went flying across my foot.

My brother in law who was sat next to me was just as bad as it ran across his foot too, he proceeded to drop a washing basket on teh poor things bonce.

I hate myself for reading this thread at this time in the night. FML.

One of the big ones pictured above crawled across my cream carpet, the contrast of black and cream makes it really stand out >.<

Hate spiders as well. Might have to try the conker thing out.

Not sure if this is true but had a conversation that in your average lifetime you would eat three spiders or around that, as apparently when you sleep and leave your mouth open they think its a nice crevice or something.

Thread resurrection!

It has happened again - four spiders within four days. The latest one was climbing up the jacket that was hanging over my desk.
