Is there any way to change the genre of your mp3s en mass?

I am trying to change the genre in the ID tag of my mp3 so that I can better organise them on my mp3 player. Is there any way to say change the all the id tags of a mp3 in a single folder?

Tag and rename is what you want. You can get a 30 day fully functional trial that does this.

I use iTunes for that sorta thing. Works fine for bulk editing of any ID tags. And its free.

I just use explorer.

Select them all, right click, select properties, click Summary, click Advanced.
Then it has all the ID tags in there. If you want to change a tag of all the selected files then just update it and click on OK/Apply.

Remember not to change anything that is unique to a track, like the track name....cos that could get confusing

Or you could use WinAMP, it has the same sort of functionality, but I usually just use Windows Explorer
