Is This a Good Rig?/£1000 Spec?

Yeah, I've been trolling the site since my last post, looking at the different cases, and I had pretty much settled on the CM-690 II Advanced Dominator case in black, although the Nvidia branded one did catch my eye, mostly because it's fairly unique for a case in that the lighting is green.

I know this may seem a bit cheeky, asking this on the OCUK forum, but I see [some other company] (also OCUK) are selling overclocked bundles with pretty much the exact same parts as I was going to buy separately.

The downside is that it's a bit more expensive to buy it pre-build and pre-overclocked like that. But I have not had a good experience with overclocking, and I don't want to ruin my brand new system. Leaving aside the fact that they are competitors, are pre-overclocked bundles like this worth getting for novice/under-confident overclockers?

In all honesty, I'd probably say it depends on who's providing the service...

I'd trust OCUK to do it if I weren't too confident, but I know they have a good service, I've heard some horror stories about other sellers, and that's why I'd stick with OCUK for mine.

Saying that, I think I'd still rather buy them in parts and experiment with overclocking...

However bad it sounds, pretty much the worse thing you can do, is fry the CPU, and as the companies have no way of knowing how you killed it, I'm pretty sure OCUK have a 'we don't ask policy' but don't quote me on that.... Could be an interesting learning experience... but yeah it is an option, depends whether you're willing to spend the price on it, and whether you trust the bundle producers.
