Is this actually *that* impressive? (David Blaine)

Glad I am not the only one till admire David Blaine, I am guessing you do Dimple? Or maybe I am on my own again.

His talk on how he held his breath for seventeen minutes I found very inspirational, someone posted it in the Youtube thread once. Well worth a watch if you have twenty minutes to spare.

I think it would probably be more inspirational just watching him hold his breath..

What is it with every one trying to be the comedian on OCUK nowadays? Suppose it is good to keep the spirits up, though a lot miss the mark of comedic wit by a long shot.

This show doesn't sound the most exciting though I am slightly intrigued.

Seriously? I meant no offense at all by that post. People are far too easily offended!

I thought the Jesus comparison would have gotten more hate, you know they both walked on water and did other tricks.

A lot of children love magic tricks, and so do some adults. Is that a better way of saying it?

Give over, you know what you were typing.

I wasn't trying to be funny that was sincere.

I would say highly inspirational, I found it so anyhow.

I found it vacuous, tedious, unspirational, slightly emo while at the same time rather disturbed self absorbed anal and.. largely irrelevent to anything tangible in a day to day life.

But if listening to him dribble on and on for 20 minutes about holding his breath for 17 inspires you, go free and let the wind blow in your gorgeous locks as you chase the golden rainbow over the sunset..

Empty, too long or slow, "uninspirational" and slightly emo?
Did you really even watch it? Like where he even tried to have a pipe and bladder inserted to trick the feat.

Oh nevermind.

I am confident someone will see it in a more positive light.

Apparently his next venture "Electrified", staged on a pier in N.Y. I believe, will be broadcast live on Youtube thanks to Intel and people will be able to go and control the electricity. Not sure how that will work. He will also be only drinking water. Oh and he will have ear plugs for protection, someone mention the sound volume of arc firing Tesla coils. I wonder if he could be subject to the Hutchinson effect at all, or is that a different Tesla operation? :p

Yes I watched it. If you look at the timestamp between you posting the video, and me responding.. I even gave a couple of minutes worth of reflection on the matter and have to reaffirm my conclusions.

Yes, although with the lengths he went to show us what he would do to be an illusionist such as the tube down his throat then he deserves credit for his determination, but overall no I'm not particularly drawn in or inspired by his personal adventures. And yes emo, getting all upset when talking about all the pain he has endured to be a master magician.

Who gives a **** frankly.

Enjoy your inspired evening. :)

You can get all the nutrition you need from drinks to live without any negative problems anyway. You can get anything in liquid form using a blender.

Every new stunt he pulls off needs to be more and daring for him to keep getting attention, so chances are that he will eventually end up killing himself.
