After a mere 8000 miles one of my rear redstuff pads has come off the backing plate that connects to the calliper

When the caliper is on, it still has contact and it can't move anywhere. The brakes still work etc

My MOT is due soon, do I need to change this for the MOT? or will it pass regardless?

Going to just replace them with Pagids

Are you talking about the friction material come away from the metal if so I wouldn't be worried about it passing the MOT I would be more concerned about safety and the lack of. But short answer Fail.

Do you think they make them one piece for a laugh if they could get away with selling the lining material seperately?

Always heard this as being a common problem with EBC sadly, put me right off them despite the good performance vs price ratio so long as you buy the most appropriate pads for your car and usage profile!

As much as it should be a fail, as long as the brakes are working efficiently then it will pass. They would need to remove the wheel and possibly take the pads out to see the problem, and they will do neither of these things.

Was planning to MOT tomorrow, have ordered the new pads

What car is it? EBC Bluestuff pads are getting fantastic reviews at the moment, and very well priced :)

I never track the car, I replaced the original set of reds that the car had when I bought it, all round with reds. Won't be buying them again

Sorry but ITR? I don't know that one :)

Reds and yellows are crap, I destroyed my yellows recently and they never ever felt right. Got blues on there now, big difference :)

Flew through MOT :D

One new caliper and new pads on both sides being fitted as we speak.

Pads from both sides had fallen apart, shocking. I rarely use my brakes. EBC said I can have a refurb after they've inspected them
