Having re-read the title proper, (only met on xmas eve) I think a box of chocs & a single flower of some kind wouldn't be going overboard yet would be a nice gesture.

Yea, get her a little something that is clearly just meant to be sweet and a bit of a joke (chocolate orange etc is a good idea). Don't try and get something genuinely sentimental or anything since that might come over a bit strong.

Something like a chocolate orange is perfect, it's both non committal and a bit of a laugh, it's that perfect middle ground between taking the **** and creepy stalker man.

This. Then you can take the relationship a step further by having her break the orange (a lá the adverts) on the end of your engorged manhood. She'll love it.
