I bought that one, but on new and used for it there's one for 1p.
I got that, was only about £5 with postage.
Works fine for me.

Its a digital cable, it will either work or it wont.

A common and incorrect belief. Digital signals passed over copper cables have an extremely complex analog signal, and badly made cables can cause bit errors even in a cable which appears to sync up.

Error correction continuously makes 'best guess' attempts to correct the bit errors on the fly, and it does a fairly good job. But in a purests point of view it can make a real difference.

Digital errors are less obvious than analog errors like ghosting, as it can be as little as 1 pixel thats slightly the wrong colour (or totally wrong if the cable really sucks)... But its still not necessarily "perfect".

Computers use retransmissions to get around the problems of bit errors, but retransmissions during a video or audio datastream are more obvious than simply 'guessing' what the errored data should have been, and then continuing to the next datablock.

Buy one cheap and laugh at people that pay loads for one...

How wrong you are, in theory digital being 1's and 0's it shouldnt matter, but it really does

Really cheap cables can mean you arent getting the most out of your nice new TV

And if you're willing to spend 800+ on a TV whats a few quid on a nice cable to ensure you're getting the best picture

Get rid of the competitor's link m8.

As for HDMI, I have a cable I paid £3 for, I have an "official" one that came with the PS3 and have also tried a friend's £30 monster brand HDMI cable. Can I tell any difference between the IQ on any of the cables? I sure as hell can't.

I've tried quite a few different HDMI cables - including a really expensive one - and I can't tell the difference... I'm using a stores own brand HDMI cable, cost me £12 and it looks pretty darn decent :)

Utter rubbish im afraid.

Yes there are some really cheap cables (without shielding) that will be of a worse quality but the v1.3 cables I buy from a competitor at £6 a pop will be just the same quality as a £100 QED one.
