Dell Inspiron 11z - £399

Intel® Pentium® Dual Core Processor ULV SU4100 (1.30GHz, 2MB, 800MHz)
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English
11.6" WLED HD TFT Display with TrueLife™ (1366 x 768)
Intel GS45 Integrated Graphics
2048MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [1x2048]
250GB (5,400rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive

Basically i already have a 15.4" laptop but its old and i want a new one. I like idea of trying windows 7. I also like the idea of a small laptop for ease of use and transport. Is 11.6" too small or is ok for internet use ?

Anything else to consider ? £300-£400 budget
Thanks for any input.

Try dell outlet. Ive ordered the exact same model for £275 incl

My only concern with the laptop is the 3 cell battery and rubbish trackpad

ive just had an acer aspire 5532 for 330 quid. Decent spec as well x2 cpu radeon 3200 and 3gb ram with wireless n.

Also had win7 premium installed

What trackpad does it use? not the same as the 13z I take it because the 13z one is pretty epic!

Other than battery life it seems to be a fine netbook if you don't need HDMI I guess!

Or shall i just sod it and get a macbook pro ?

I hate deciding what to buy, which is best etc etc. Atleast with a macbook, you know what itll do straight away.

hmmmmmm

Yeah, it'll do exactly the same as a Windows 7 laptop but cost 50% more ;)

Only downside is I'd say see if you can find one with a low end integrated non-intel GPU. Not much wrong with Intel per se for basic bits and pieces, but I can't see them running amazingly with Aero, especially as Intels win7 drivers for integrated chips are apparently a bit shabby right now. A 7200RPM drive would make the machine a bit nippier too.
