Hi, sometimes when I turn on my pc it will power up for about a sec or two then go off.. then a sec later it comes back on and all is normal. It usually happens when the pc has been off over night.

sounds like the known dual-boot issue with non-Pro abit IP35 boards. There's a bios uppie that helps to minimise this, not entirely certain if its a complete fix though.

13beta will cure the double boot except when power to the board has been totally disconnected (i.e. no standby 5V). After that it will double boot the first time but be fine after that until all power is removed from the mobo again.

I also have a hiper 580 watt psu which will not work with this motherboard, but worked fine with my old A8N-sli.

It's not a problem is it?
My P5B-E does it too, and i've been kind of freaked about it for a long time.
Gonna see if the IP35 Pro build i'll be making tommorow does it too.

Both my old P965 DS3 and my current P35 DS3P did/do it now and again.

It's considered to be pretty normal.
