is this possible to do with 2 pc's(think i'm dreaming)

I think i have read about something similar but i may have imagined it, so here goes

can I have my connect from my laptop to my main rig via vpn/remote desktop and play games? ie use laptop whilst in bed/on sofa whilst bigrig pumps out the game.

ie, have main rig running oblivion and controlling it via laptop in other room/location?

or am I just dreaming?

Even if it possible to setup, the framerate would be unplayable due to the rate at which VNC etc updates. And there's probably be a increase in latency to boot, which would make trying to play fast moving games pretty futile.

I'm guessing you would be looking at VNC (Virtual Network Computing). Whether you would be able to run games over it, at a decent framerate, I highly doubt.

Well he could always cobble together a makeshift laptop with a keyboard, monitor, mouse and a bit of gaffa tape. A few long cables and hey-presto, you can play games in bed.

What you have in mind, wouldnt be playable....... also had the same idea a long time ago, and its not really possible, not at a playable level.

Get a big screen and a cordless mouse and keyboard.

You can pick up an old 21" CRT for £40 - £80 from computer fairs etc...... if you wanted a cheaper option..
