I think I've found a slightly annoying bug in my camera, when I put it on manual and set the aperture and shutter and I tend to put the ISO on auto; now it should be auto but it always seems to set to 400 which is a royal pain in the backside, why doesn't it use 800+? One for a bit of investigation I see unless I'm missing some setting somewhere.

Why should it use 800? Maybe it doesn't have o get maintain the specified shutter speed.

There are a few technical details for auto-ISO.
Also, make sure the upper limit is set to something higher than 400...

Anyway, I find using complete manual but setting auto ISo a litle strange.

Because the auto is auto. Using such technical manual settings with aperture and shutter, dont expect the ISO is be where you want it all the time. The sensor does not always see what the eye sees. Why dont you leave it on 800 when your doing the shoot and then adjust it accordingly when you need to.

Most likely what's happened.
