Hamas is extremists, yes. They just killed hundreds of innocent civilians in cold blood.

Israel is coming for them as we discuss this.
Yes Israel created the beast now they have to deal with the consequences. Innocent Israelis had to pay the price for their politicians mistakes.......we see this way to often.

That point is ignored by some here because it exposes the flaw in their "both sides are bad" equivocation effort.

That's why the two sides are not "equally bad".

I'm comparing the way one group of people are governed vs another.

One approach is preferable to the other in my view. They are not "equally bad".

You just can't accept that there is a real difference between the way the two sides operate.
You've made a lovely straw man, here.

I don't think anyone has even used the phrasing, "They're equally as bad," whatever that even means.

It's such a simplistic nonsense it really needs no retort.

Bother sides *are* bad. Both sides are frankly terrible.

Hamas is evil, sure. No argument. Despicable.

Israel is persecuting millions of people for decades. Millions. For decades. Actively going out of their way to make life a living hell.

Sure, they don't behead people and descrate their corpses. And that's abhorent, no doubt.

But Israel have been slowly and painfully breaking an entire people for decades.

"Equally as bad?" You could make a point for that, I think. But I wouldn't try, because it's stupid to try to measure one set of evils against another set of evils.

This is what Hamas spends money on.

Then they have the gall to claim that the blockade makes it impossible to get food into Gaza. The reality is that Israel allows the transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza, even during blockades.

2009:

During the Israeli operation in Gaza:

37,159 tons of humanitarian aid on 1503 trucks were transferred via the Kerem Shalom and Karni crossings (food, medication and medical supplies)
1,535,750 liters of heavy duty diesel for the Gaza power station
234 tons of gas for domestic use
188,000 liters of diesel for UNRWA vehicles and needs
3,896 tons of grain, on 98 trucks were transferred via the Karni conveyor belt
20 ambulances were donated by the governments of Turkey and Jordan, and 10 ambulances transferred to the Gaza Strip by the ICRC in order to meet the needs of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society
449 dual nationals were evacuated via the Erez Crossing
68 chronically ill people and their escorts made their way from Gaza to Israel, the West Bank and Jordan
37 employees of international organizations and medical staff entered Gaza via the Erez Crossing
A forward medical clinic was established at Erez by Magen David Adom
Numerous medical movements took place via Rafah, including at least 25 ambulances

2011:

In August 2011, the Coordinator of Government Activities in Territories reported that since the Cabinet's decision, 149 new internationally funded projects have been approved. The Cabinet specified that projects in the fields of education, water, sewage, housing and health would be prioritized, and projects in these fields constitute 72% of all the projects approved for implementation in the Gaza Strip. At the end of June 2011, 33 projects were complete and 59 others were in the implementation stages.

Recently Israel approved 13 more projects of the international community, bringing to 176 the total number of projects approved. Thirty-five of the projects have been completed, 70 are in various stages of implementation, 63 have not yet begun, and eight were canceled. Up to the beginning of November, 11,343 truckloads of building materials were delivered to the Gaza Strip for these projects.

2015:

Gaza, May 31 (BNA): Chairman of the Presidential Committee for Coordination of Goods into Gaza Strip, Raed Fattouh, today told Palestinian news agency (WAFA) that 630 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid for commercial and agricultural sectors this morning arrived in Gaza through Karem Abu Salem commercial crossing.

Fattouh elaborated that 65 trucks of the shipment loaded with construction materials for international projects and another 150 trucks loaded with gravel for road infrastructure today entered Gaza.

2021:

EAST JERUSALEM/GAZA STRIP, 21 May 2021- UNICEF delivered today lifesaving critical humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip with 18 containers of assistance. This aid supply entered the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing in support of children and families due to the recent escalation.

The UNICEF organised convoy with the support of the logistic cluster on behalf of other humanitarian agencies delivered 12 containers of medical supplies including:

One container of first-aid kits,
Two containers of 2,000 triple blood bag, saline-glucose solution,
One container of fire extinguishers,
Two containers of antibiotics and other infection-control medications.
10,000 doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine.

80% of Palestinians are supported by international humanitarian aid.

Nobody should be surprised by support from Muslims around the world, it's a mask off moment to remind everyone we have nothing in common with most of these people.

We have a lot in common with them, especially the civilians who get caught up in it.

Just because we in the West have it good for the most part doesn't mean these people should be treated like a different species.

There are a lot of people in this country who believe in absolute nonsense and blindly follow and believe all sorts, it's just that the consequences aren't usually as severe.

Both sides are as bad as each other. I have sympathy for the innocent people who are suffering and have died but to assign any moral high ground to either side is laughable. They are both contemptible IMHO.

There are two sides fighting. Of the two sides, I prefer the way Isreal operates over the way Hamas operates.

It must be a real heartwarming feeling to know the soldier who murdered you or your family may possibly face weak justice.

With right wing government in power that's not surprising. Question is would Palestinians do the same thing if they were in Israelis shoes ?

I don’t place the same burden of responsibility on the occupied as the occupier.

The Prison guards duty is to protect the prisoners, the prisoners often escape and harm the prison guard even though the guards are suppose to protect them.
