Issue with accessing the forums outside of the UK?

I live in Asia most of the year and as of the last few days accessing the forums has been impossible without a VPN.

Can a mod comment if this is going to be a permanent feature to stop the spam that floods the forums every now and again?

I suppose there is the off chance that access has been forbidden in India (where I am at the moment), but I cant access it from my business line, my home line or my mobile line (all different ISPS).

Have India got their own great firewall like China?

Possible that something on the forums has flagged an auto block.

No idea.

Its a strange country and numerous websites that are perfectly legitimate have been blocked by the government because of its alleged link to hardcore pornography. (i.e the Bleacher Report), and then with the more obvious ones its no issue, a 'friend' tells me that pornhub is perfectly fine.

Might be an autoblock thing? I know every now and again the forum gets spammed with messages from China offering all sorts of fake examinations etc. So maybe its an autoblock?

Its not a major issue for me because I use a VPN to access a lot of UK content anyway.

AFAIK we don't have many restrictions on viewing the forums.

It could well be routing issues or something (I know as a UK resident I'm having issues with really slow connections to some US sites at the moment).

im for ever using a vpn (currently france vpn) and have no issue accessing the forums, nor did i have issues in Portugal.
sounds like you have a dns issue which is resolved when using a vpn.

This is probably it, because today I am able to access it without a VPN.

Thanks for the clarification as well.
