It looks like Z77 boards are close to release

Morning all,

Just received confirmation from msi over the Z77A-GD55 but am still sceptical.

Me to them:

Hi,
I see you have some z77 mainboards listed :-) and in particular Z77A-GD55.

The specification for this is listed as;
"PCI-E Gen, Gen3 (16, 16), Gen2(4)"

Does this mean that both these Gen3 slots on this board will operate at x16 when two Gen3 type graphics cards are fitted?

That is my understanding from your web site but the Z77A-GD65 doesn't seem to do this so I want to check please whether the GD55 can?

If not, do you have any Z77 mainboards that can do 2 Gen3 x16 when both occupied?

Thank you for contacting MSI Technical Support.

Regarding your concern, yes, this mainboard can support 2 Gen3 x16. You can install two graphics cards to PCI-E 2 and PIC-E 5 to achieve it.

If this is the case then it makes this card very good value for money. :-)
