Thoroughly confused by all the politics in here now. I'm a fairly regular poster (read: I waste a hell of a lot of time here) and its things like this that annoy me, much more than the spam. You guys 'in the know' are basically treating yourselves as a secret club and keeping everyone else guessing. The simple fact is most people dont care particularly why feek's leaving - thats his business. But building it up like this in an 'I know a secret but cant tell you' way seems rather childish and is damn annoying.

The thing is we didn't actually start it here. Some people just assumed Feek left because of the state of GD, and that's not the case. I know it's frustrating for us to say we know why and not elaborate more than that, but we can't say anything more than that without risking a suspension ourselves.

I know Feek, but I'm certainly not privy to any secret information.

Given what I've read tonight, I'd say a chain of forum events over a period has annoyed him progressively until he's come to a point where he fancies a clean break and doesn't feel happy or able to post here regularly any more.

Are you not afraid that stirring dissent in this manner (hinting at 'underlying causes') would also risk a suspension?

T&T blimey what a spot on post! I've been here for about 6 years (crikey:eek:) and couldn't quite put my finger on the cliqueyness but now that I see it, it has been quite prominent in recent times.

I'm not a fan of all these 'look at me i'm going' threads, I have seen plenty of them and I actually prefered it when people left without saying anything, often for doing wrong things but at least it's a bit more dignified.

Ohh err missus.

Indeed :D .

Right, i'm off to bed.

Respect to spy/the mods for letting this thread run its course at least.

There's a risk I suppose, but while I was a Don I would never have suspended someone for saying what I said (I still respect the rules and operate within them). If I felt it crossed a line I'd have simply deleted it. I'm not offending anyone nor insulting anyone, merely saying there are more reasons than is immediately obvious for Feek's departure. People can read into that what they will.

Thanks for explaining Davey, I'll leave it at that then.

So, byebye Feek!

I dont know of I am in the "elite club" or not but I am not thick and even before I spoke to a few of my friends (thats people I am friends with, not people I am siding with in some sort of illuminati secret society way) here I knew what the lowdown was. Perhaps if you were as "involved" in the forums as some others are/were then you would see it plain as day. If you are looking on from the perspective of a casual reader you just cannot see it.

This whole "elite 50" tosh really winds me up as well. There were meets, a handful attended and had a great time. More people heard about it and went and had a great time and friendships were formed. People heard about those and couldnt go to them so had one near them, people travelled to have a good time and they did and more friendships were made. The fact people know each other in this way isnt sinister, and if you think it is, I feel that it just goes to show how ignorant of human nature you are. Of course you are going to interact better with people you know. You dont always agree with them, I have had many a discussion with forum friends where we didnt see eye to eye.

The "politics" of this situation cant be openly discussed because to do so would result in your access here being revoked indefinitely. That is why it seems like some know but others dont - its exactly like that but not becaue they dont want to say but because they like posting here too much to say :)

Well I'm glad he hasn't left because of crap threads and therefore not being a hyprocrite. :)

I don't think it matters why he's left, because it's obviously a reason behind closed doors, but farewell to him anyway.

Can this not be locked/deleted? It seems to apply to only a few people who know the bizarre secret of Feek's conceited post.

It should have been deleted before the majority of pople had the chance to see it because surely it would have been obvious that it would cause this kind of response.

Ingorance is bliss

Feek is anything but conceited and there are a lot more people that appreciate his posting and like him than those that know him and why he left...

If he were less conceited he'd have left without any of this. He clearly knew it would cause a response this big. I remember him solely for shooting guns and drinking beer, and this whole thread has tainted my view of him.
