Although I never knew Feek, I did enjoy reading his posts and he was one of the people that seemed to command respect around here

I am probably not very well known round here, nor did I know Feek, but when someone like that leaves, you going to notice. I'll miss him :(

not they were very much welcomed and fun to read on a friday night.

Back when I joined (6 years ago) very few people knew each other off the forums, but over time, through various meets over the years, there is a large community here that extends to real friendship off the forums. If something happens to someone on here, there is often a real life friend who is also a member who will find out and be annoyed by it. This has happened several times over the years, and will continue to happen unless the community is completely destroyed, which I think would be a huge loss to the forums.

I don't think the community will ever go. Treefrog is a prime example of what makes this place so special, and it's gonna be hard to kill that completely.

Guys, some of you are getting very close to personal attacks here. Please make sure you stay inside the rules here, I don't think Feek would want people to get suspended or worse as a result of this.

We've already had two long time regular people suspended for what were polite comments about a situation (Seems politeness went out of fashion... *shrug*) and thats offended more than a few people. I wouldn't be surprised to find Feek is one of them, but I also suspect with Feek its just icing on the cake. I also wonder how many of the offended ones are hardly daring to post not wishing to join the suspended numbers. I know I almost didn't post this myself. When it all comes down to it, those of us that have been in the community love this place and the people in it. Its usually been fairly moderated, and its been fantastic to have a place not filled with the usual kind of rubbish that proliferates most other forums.

Who knows, maybe I'll be shot down even for this post?

Have to agree with this really. I havent found the lousy GD posts to be too much (after all, if i don't like the look of a thread i don't enter a thread). But the fear for my account when posting in certain threads is a little much.

I know, and I suppose it's a little silly to jibe at someone who's no longer around - and I realise his mates a pretty cyber-hard, but I'm willing to take my chances. My spider senses tell me the guy will be reading every post in this thread though - I don't reckon he's quite gone yet. Just a hunch.

I didn't know Feek, just read his posts. Shame he's going though, seems a lot of people care about him and obviously have strong ties with him. I fail to see why people would need to leave a forum entirely because of the quaility of posting but i get the impression there are other reasons also. /shrugs. Could always just post less instead of leave forever?
 
w11tho has as much right to not be bothered by feek's departure & state his reasons why as others have to despair over it :)
