Italian Grand Prix 2010, Monza Circuit - Race 14/19

I guess it doesn't matter much this weekend, RB have (had?!?!) an advantage on high downforce corners, they will be at a disadvantage at Monza with long straights and low downforce.

Hoping they are slower still :p

Might actually miss the race. Girlfriend lands in Heathrow 45mins before the race after a year of working abroad. Looks like I will have my own little race to get back in time...I am not hopeful :(

15 min. of taxying, 15 min. of walking and 15 min. of waiting for the suitcases.
The race will have started before you will be on your way back :(
But on the bright side you will have a lot of quality time to catch up on, reminds me of a Scary Movie part X where the girl is lauched against the ceiling at moment supreme :D

Anyway, slightly off topic now.

With such a long straight i don't think pole will be much off an issue. Im going for a Mclaren 1-2. Vettle to take out teflon on the first corner

Alonso, Hamilton and the 2 RBR cars to fill the top 4 positions.
No idea which order though.

RBR still easily have the fastest car, so it would be folly to rule them out.

The above assumes a dry race.
If its wet...all bets are off.

They are fast on high downforce corners, not on low downforce straights.

I think the Ferrari's, Renaults and maybe Force Indias will be faster than Red Bull.

The Force India's are super-fast in a straight line, remember that pass by Sutil on one of the Mercs at Spa? Just drove past Schui like he was in a Morris Minor.

If I was looking for a dark-horse bet I'd go for a Sutil podium finish.

As usual it will be interesting to see what new ways Vettel and Alonso find to completly ****-up :D

The Mercs aren't quick in a straightline though and struggle to accelerate out of corners due to no rear end grip.

I hope to see two very quick McLarens this weekend ;)

From what they've said about having to modify the car.. it suggests to me that they possibly modified their car in a way that's similar to RBR.. but have now changed it to pass the test :p

Be interesting to see whether the Force India's can translate their straight line speed into a decent race pace this weekend.

Precisely. As we have seen before, the RBR cars will smoke the Force India cars on pretty much any circuit.

I think the most likely car to challenge the RBR cars this weekend will be Hamilton's McLaren and Alonso's Ferrari.

Every race, people suggest that the RBR cars will not be strong at a particular track, but every race we see them get pole and do well in the race. The only thing that can stop an RBR car winning is wet weather OR Vettel messing his race up. Even Webber, who isn't exactly fast, can pick up wins.

For me, RBR, providing it remains dry this weekend, should be on pole and win the race.

McLaren and Hamilton badly need to get a good result here to cement their position at the front of the Championship, a bad result here whether through bad luck or lack of pace and they'll hand the season to Red Bull, and back to Webber. Ferrari are probably the spoiler in the pack for McLaren this weekend, a good performance from them could take the top spots.

I'm hoping for a shock Sutil result though.

All the teams have had a level of flexibility in their floors as it is allowed by the rules and prevents the cars from launching themselves skywards when hitting curbs, but with the new test being more demanding small changes have needed to be made.

What is going to be interesting is the new reg which requires the minimum length of any one section of the plank to be 1m. This will prevent the multiple sections that RBR use to allow for the inferred hinge which enables the splitter to fold up as the nose comes down.

i seem to remember the force india getting a run on vettal coming out of eau rouge and retaking him? vettel passed him straight away in the middle section?
