So now punishments are tailored against how well or badly you have done in the race are they?
Thank goodness Mr Men isn't a race steward. Hamilton would be DQ'd every race

So drive through for Williams last race for using mixed set.
And other tire infringements have been a suspended fine, only payable if the team does it again.
As sky says the chance of DQ is extremely unlikely.

That was a clear mistake.
Did Mercedes make a mistake or were they pushing the limits? Is their interpretation that the pressure when the tyres are hot is what matters?

Pushing the limit on a single tire, please.
Of which they say the car telemetry shows it above 19.5psi at all times in race.
Would be hilarious if he got a 25s penality and beat Vettel by 0.042s. Ferrari would be livid they didn't realise, especially as Vettel was within 25s until the final sector of the final lap and obviously just lifted a little towards the line.
In this case probably will be, as it then makes a mockery of the minimum pressure directive if a team can run it lower and win by enough of a margin to make any penalty meaningless, there has to be a consequence for breaking the rules.
It would render the FIA powerless against Merc and that would just be retarded.

I wonder when Mercedes were first told of this infringement? Seconds before asking Lewis to push, or earlier?
Seems a bit odd to announce this infringement a few laps from the race end, giving Mercedes the opportunity to try and build a 25 second buffer.
Are you asking that question seriously?
Do you think Mercedes made the rear left 0.3 psi under spec on purpose?
The FIA are looking at Ferrari as well for tyre pressure
So because a team is better they should be punished more.. Great way of destroying a sport.
Who knows what the other tyres were at.
