Italian Grand Prix 2015, Monza - Race 12/19

So drive through for Williams last race for using mixed set.
And other tire infringements have been a suspended fine, only payable if the team does it again.

As sky says the chance of DQ is extremely unlikely.

That was a clear mistake. Provides no advantage.

Did Mercedes make a mistake or were they pushing the limits? Is their interpretation that the pressure when the tyres are hot is what matters?

Pushing the limit on a single tire, please.
Of which they say the car telemetry shows it above 19.5psi at all times in race.

So now punishments are tailored against how well or badly you have done in the race are they?

In this case probably will be, as it then makes a mockery of the minimum pressure directive if a team can run it lower and win by enough of a margin to make any penalty meaningless, there has to be a consequence for breaking the rules.

It would render the FIA powerless against Merc and that would just be retarded.

I wonder when Mercedes were first told of this infringement? Seconds before asking Lewis to push, or earlier?

Seems a bit odd to announce this infringement a few laps from the race end, giving Mercedes the opportunity to try and build a 25 second buffer.

Maybe they went round measuring one tyre on the vehicles?

We'll find out.

Is there an advantage having left to right tilt?

Would be hilarious if he got a 25s penality and beat Vettel by 0.042s. Ferrari would be livid they didn't realise, especially as Vettel was within 25s until the final sector of the final lap and obviously just lifted a little towards the line.

It would explain the cloak and dagger messages.

The FIA are looking at Ferrari as well for tyre pressure

EDIT= Not any more

Are you asking that question seriously?

Do you think Mercedes made the rear left 0.3 psi under spec on purpose?

Letter sent to stewards at 15:04

Why don't they just tell offending teams to adjust their tyre pressure before the race starts? I'm assuming that's when the officials check the cars?

Read the letter again. They only sampled one tyre.

Who knows what the other tyres were at.

Rosberg was also 1.1psi under.

The issue here isn't comparable to the Spa infringement by Williams as this will be deemed a safety infringement. Only out by a small margin, but the fact that both cars were under pressure will likely weigh against them.

So because a team is better they should be punished more.. Great way of destroying a sport.

That's what everyone around here was calling for when Red Bull were at the front.
