Cheers Shimmy. Sprint qualifying where I expect most teams to go ultra skinny on their wings on Saturday.

No Kim, Kubica to substitute again...

Second Sprint Qualifying. I wasn't a great fan of the first trial; let's see how it goes on this circuit.

That was pretty inevitable, wasn't it? Don't they still have a 10 day isolation period? Is there any word on Kimi's condition? I hope he's doing okay.

Great to see Kubica get another race in a decent car; hope Kimi is still assymptomatic though!

Not really Lewis was back after less than week. He missed the Sakhir GP on 6th but was back for Abu Dhabi on 13th. The announcement at least I think was when he'd already travelled.

EDIT: of course he'd already travelled because the GP was in the same place the week before. The 1st December is the first I can see about him testing positive. He was in Adbu Dhabi by 11th possibly the 10th. So perhaps.

Monza is one of the great circuits for me. It oozes history and provides a different sort of challenge.

This is potentially a good track for Max to take an engine penalty.

They can see where they're at in the sprint race, if it's clear they can't beat Mercedes take the engine penalty and fly past most of the field on the straight.

Likely still get 3rd or 4th.

I wonder if Lewis will also take one if Max does... would be fun if both of them move from front row back and then carve through

This afternoon? No. The sprint quali is tomorrow at 3.30 UK time (4.30 local). The qualifying for the sprint qualifying is at 5 today (6 local).

Probably one of the few races where back to front is realistically achievable. I don't think I've ever seen someone win an F1 race from last.

The stupid naming is part of why I hate the whole thing.

What is the deadline for RB to take an engine penalty? It seems smart to take the hit if they're nowhere but can they do that on Sunday?

By that I mean, how long will it take to change the engine assuming they run an old unit for Fri and Sat? Assuming curfew's are enforced now :p

Luckily I've just remembered that qualifying is at 5pm today.... I imagine there'll be a few people who don't realise / can't watch.
