Hey,

Im makeing a new cheep setup due to mine slowly dieing on me.

My past 2 setups have been shuttles so im a bit rusty at this, These are the components i have chosen:

Asus M4A78LT-M LE AMD 760G Socket AM3
AMD Athlon II X3 450 3.2GHz Socket AM3
Corsair 430W CX PSU
Scythe Shuriken Quiet Low Profile
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10666
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB

£240

I have a few questions, will all this work together?

If anyone knows if the Scythe Shuriken will hit the ram? with the ram being close to the cpu and the fact the HS is low profile.

Due to space im going to make my own case to house all these conponents, As far as i know the motherboard always mounts on the right side of the case.
would it be ok to turn the motherboard round and mount it on the left and have the cpu and the slots the wrong way up?

Thanks for any help, Sean

Looks like a good budget build. No idea if the Scythe will interfere with the RAM.

As for the home built case, the motherboard won't care in the slightest which way up it is :)

Will work perfectly, and I don't -think- the Scythe will foul the ram, it is designed for HTPC etc after all.

Just a note, the Seagate Barracuda 1TB is marginally cheaper and marginally faster :p

Thanks for the help guys,

Im glad the motherboard can go any way round. i did think it should be ok but just like to check, and ill have alook at that other hard drive too.

If anyone else would like to help/comment feel free

Cheers Sean

i remember a lil while back not hearing good things about the 430w builder series psu. you might wanna do a bit of reading on it. Might be worth spending £5-10 more and getting something better
