Got myself a new car
Its a mk3 R-reg golf gti.
The plan was that mum would sell her old civic and use my golf, then add me as a named driver when i get home from uni so i can drive it to work (will hopefully have a job by the time im finished uni). Then she would take me off as a named driver when i start uni again next year. However, she phoned her insurance company today and they wont touch me with it
(19 yr old - no NCB as i used to drive the civic as a named driver.)
Im not completely stupid, i did get some insurance quotes before i bought the car. The best quotes were £1050 TPFT and £1390 fully comp. The prices were not as high as i'd expected (considering i have mates driving rover 400s paying nearly 1000) so i didnt think it would be a problem with mums insurance.
Basically, what i want to know is the best way of insuring myself to drive for the 3months that im home. I have a part-time job in glasgow so i can afford insurance during the uni term if i really need to, i dont want to risk leaving it in glasgow
and i wont always be guarenteed a parking space. Anybody have any ideas?

Quote for me and my Mam on her 2002 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Freestyle came to about ~£250...something like that anyway.
