Steeda Charge Motion Plates
steeda_charge_motion_plates.jpg

Let your pony breathe! The factory charge-motion control plates produce a restriction in the intake path - which these replacements from Steeda eliminate. Beautifully CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. If you are already on the bottle, we've got the holes drilled and tapped for you, ready for you to install your nozzles. Recalibration after installation is required - easily handled with the new Diablosport Predator with Custom Tunes, or with the SCT Xcalibrator!

All three of the above combined should be good for approx 30-40 RWHP and upto 40FTlbs at the wheels. The car sounds evil enough now but with the new headers installed it will sound like a very angry animal trying to get out.

This will then give me a total list of the following modifications:-
Ford Mustang GT base RWHP = 260-265 RWHP / 285FTlbs (300BHP / 320FTlbs Flywheel) 12-15% tranmission loss in power
Tunable Induction CAI = +15-18 RWHP / +5-10FTlbs
Saleen UnderDrive Pulleys = +8-10 RWHP / +3-5 FTlbs
Bassani LT Headers + Bassani X-Pipe = 15-25 RWHP / 25-40FTlbs
Bamachips Race or Performance Tune = 10-14 RWHP / 10-25FTlbs
Saleen Catback System = 0-3 RWHP 5-10 FTlbs

Total = Minimum 303 RWHP & 333FTlbs (approx 350BHP & 380FTlbs @ Flywheel)
Total = Maximum 335 RWHP & 375FTlbs (approx 380BHP & 430FTlbs @ Flywheel)

In all honesty I will be very happy if I see 300 RWHP and higher torque figure. Cars with similar mods return 305-325 RWHP obviously different dynos, ambient temperatures, humidity all effect these numbers. If I hit around 320 RWHP I will be extremely happy!
Cars with similar mods are returning 12.5s - 13.0s 1/4 mile times with terminal speeds of 104-112mph on stock tyres. With my car been a Saleen it has the advantage of been quite a bit lighter. Either way its already bloody quick but you can never say no to more. Next upgrade will be brakes I think.

Can't wait to get them all fitted up, shall be installing the Charge Motion Plates myself and getting an m8 with a ramp to fit the exhaust up for me.

This little lot just cost me $1700 including shipping & taxes. With our great Dollar Rate thats approx £900.

Shall be looking forward to feeling the extra power and listening to how she sounds and if I aint happy enough I can always slip on the race tubes. :D

Very nice. :)

So what will the car do to 60 now?

How about doing some bigger engine mods? :D

Saleen quote as STD 4.7s! Ford Quote 5.1s I believe all Saleen do is reduce the cars weight and add some extra power whilst sorting the handling.

The car probably actually does 5.0s 0-60 now as I refuse to really stamp on it in 1st as its not mechanically friendly plus I've only got so much rubber. :D

Realistically if you were not mechanically bother you'd probably hit around 4.4-4.6s at a guess. The guys running 400 RWHP and higher with Superchargers do it in approx 3.5s. :D

This seems to be becoming a bit of a hobby now, youve always got something planned for it :)

Hopefully will give you a nice increase.

Looks good :D

What is RWHP?

What BHP is your car running now?

RWHP is power actually at the wheels. All cars lose power through the tranmission. So say if you have a 200BHP engine you may only be putting approx 170 of that down to the road so that would be 170 RWHP.

If I manage approx 315 RWHP you add 12-15% onto that as that is what the Mustang looses through the transmission results in approx 350-360BHP. :)

Looks good mate! Sorry I'm not going to get to see your beast on the 17th - would have loved to have had a blast in it!

That's going to be awesome - I'm guessing you'll be getting somewhat more of a growl from the engine now?

It's normally the power off the fly-wheel. They haven't considering transmission, friction, wind etc. etc.

You got that the wrong way round I think m8. ;)

RWHP is the power at the wheels after all the transmission losses.....
BHP is the power at the flywheel.....

I knew that when you polished out my scratches you would need a favour in return :)

that sounds like hell of a lot for such a cheap price :D

tho i guess the fitting will add some to it :/

bet it will sound mental with all that on :D

So, RR day?

Yes I want to come to this, get my name down. I hope Steve is going with his M3 too as he will be a good benchmark for me. As I should get something close to his as those are about 350BHP area I think. :)

Fitting, thats what friends are for plus I always fit what I can myself it makes it all the more fun then. Nothing better than fitting a new part and then going out for blast when it all works great and you feel the improvements. :)
