They calculated 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw back to the advent of league football in 1888.

Liverpool avge points per game = 1.63, next
ManU on 1.62, next Arsenal on 1.59 followed by
.......................... Leeds on 1.48

Chelsea? Well thay came 14th on 1.39 and on this form they would have to continue with similar points totals to the last two years for the next 23 Years to overhaul Liverpool's present average.

I'm surprised Leeds were so high. They only started in 1919.

Yes, they have only played 2063 games to Liverpools 3643 (Everton having played most with 4027).

ManU have scored the most goals per game with an average of 1.699, about 2.5 goals per season more than Liverpool (1.638) and about 8 more than Leeds (1.492).

Incidentally, Huddersfield Town, one position ABOVE Chelsea, are 13th with an average of 1.39 points per game. But only 1263 games played.

It's an interesting read.

Well, that really depends upon the individual assessing the stats. Are you perhaps a Leyton Orient supporter? They are in bottom (62nd) position with 0.64 points per game, below Glossop (who? I hear you ask!) with 0.65.

Incidentally, for the uninitiated Glossop is to the East of Manchester on the run-up to the Pennines.

And so we should be we were the first team to win the top division three times in a row we used to be really good, just a shame we aren't now.
