It's too hot :(

Summer has come early this year, nice for those in the west and especially near the sea they probably have cool breeze, but here in moggy Leicester its a sweat fest.

Ah, I enjoy it when this thread comes up again each year. Let’s see if I can survive the near 40C peak summer temperature with the same humidity as the UK and no air con, while you lot complain that it’s just over half that :p

Bit crazy but hear me out. It's almost like you acclimatise to the usual temperature and when it gets higher, it feels hot.

Hopefully gonna be all aircond up and ready for it this year.

Units were flying out of stock crazy quick on the website I was looking at last night. Think everyone had the same idea.

I'm loving it but too big for my shorts atm, but I did bag some Nike TN Time Capsules from Depop, looking forward to wearing those. Will look good in the summer.

Hope we get a hot summer again this year - a month of 30C would be lovely.

No no no no no no no..

That only works if you're actually on the beach or near it the clifftop walk yesterday was a refreshing breeze once you're a couple of streets away thats gone and its a sweatbox.

Flats are basically a pressure cooker this time of year and no aircon other than the noisy portable unit rattling away in the corner.

It also goes down to -14C just outside my front door in winter, and daily swings of 10C are common here due to micro climate events, so that’s no excuse!

A well insulated home for cold winters can also do a good job of keeping the heat out in summer.

I'm not saying we aren't a country of whingers but our crap housing stock doesn't help us. Too cold in winter, too hot in summer, just about right for a few weeks in May and September :p

It's lovely at the moment though :D

It also keeps the heat in in summer if you don't religiously close blinds etc. With the rise of air con in this country our well insulated ovens are backfiring.

I must be getting old cause I enjoy the summers now. I love sitting in the garden with a book. I used to just draw the blinds and carry on playing games when I was younger!

Shorts on walking to Tesco today - kept catching glimpses of the reflection of the houses I was walking past - almost blinded myself with my legs they're that white.
