It's too hot :(

I must be getting old cause I enjoy the summers now. I love sitting in the garden with a book. I used to just draw the blinds and carry on playing games when I was younger!

This, 100%.

The one and only downside to my mind is falling asleep in the hotter weather, it's difficult for me so today I've made an effort to keep the bedroom as cool as possible.

This is unironically me now.

Sadly not the kind of view out of my window these days. I now live in a village where a lot of people come to retire the view when the sun is out is a bit grim.

When I had a flat in London with lots of students in the other flats a very different story.

I love the summer, just a shame I wear full fire and electric proof clothing, in direct sunlight I get warm rather quickly....

Oh and I work outside most of the time..

Shorts on walking to Tesco today - kept catching glimpses of the reflection of the houses I was walking past - almost blinded myself with my legs they're that white.
When you get old you never know if a nice summers day could be your last :(

OT but how are you doing with everything? You haven't mentioned it in, well, since you told us all. :(
I’m not doing too bad actually, a lot better than the docs expected. I was having trouble with excess fluid but that’s being controlled now with furosemide and since I’ve got rid of it, I feel a lot better. I was carrying around 10lbs of fluid in my belly, which is damned uncomfortable and causes terrible breathlessness. But that’s all cleared up with the tablets. When I first took them I peed out over 4.5 litres in one day, such a relief. I’m still suffering from other lesser symptoms, but they seem to have found have found a good balance of meds to keep it under control.

I don’t like saying too much on the forum about it as I don’t want people to think I’m some kind of sympathy seeker. I just get on with it.

thanks for asking :)

No it most definitely would not! 20c - fine. 30 - ****

30 is lovely.

As long as it rains every night. I mean, I'd still hate it (30C) but at least the plants wouldn't all die.

30C and no rain - nah, no deal :p

Don't disagree but in my garden just get up at 6am and spend time watering it. It's a lovely start to the day.

We've got approx 1300 litres of rainwater storage. Maybe a tad more. If it doesn't rain for a couple weeks we've used it all.

Funny thing about the last couple of years, we've had months of non-stop rain and then months (plural) of no rain.

Now my memory isn't the best, but I don't remember too many years previously that fit that pattern. Here in Cornwall rain is not normally something we are lacking ;) But these past couple years have seen some pretty extreme (by our standards) droughts.
