I tried installing itunes last night and I can't get it working on Vista 64bit - does anyone know of any tweaks/hacks to get this up and running? Do I need to fiddle with the compatibility settings?
Also double check you have a file named "CD configuration" in the Itunes folder, I didn't and had to copy the file over from my laptop (vista 32 bit) and then install the gear files.
This happened to my friends PC when I built her one.
I'm looking around all of the usual haunts for an answer and so far I'm finding nothing.
It would appear Apple have gone out of their way to cripple Vista64 support at the moment - hence them removing the Gear Software 64bit driver from their iTunes installer and actually saying "Vista 32bit" as a requirement on their website rather than "Vista" as it used to say.
The iPod "classics", mini and nano all seem to run OK under Vista64 - so as far as I can see this is a iPod Touch issue only.
I will post back if I find anything.
