A friend recently told me about eMusic, claiming it was vastly superior to the popular iTunes music store. I decided to check it out, and it was nice to get 25 free downloads of my choice.

I suddenly realised that on iTunes, each song is £0.79. On eMusic, you can pay £14.99/month and get 90 downloads per month. That's £0.16 a song. Furthermore, I then discovered that eMusic songs are free of DRM, come in high quality VBR MP3 format, and the library is enormous.

I'm in risk of this post getting deleted as it's almost an advert, but I've been thinking. Why is iTunes so succesful when it's in effect daylight robbery, and are there any other music stores that make eMusic seem like daylight robbery? :D
