iTunes newbie questions

OK, so despite owning a Mac for several years, I've never used iTunes in anger, but now I've got a brand new iPhone to fill up.

Two questions:

1) I've got a load of AAC files (which I assume is the right format for the iPhone). Right now, they're on a PC. How do I get them on to my iPhone? (My PC doesn't have iTunes, my Mac does). I need quick and easy here as this needs to be done ASAP (I assumed I knew how to do it, and I assumed wrong).

If it is any help, I do have Winamp and MediaMonkey on the PC. Also, the PC and Mac are networked and I've got the network drive containing the files mounted on my Mac already.

2) Can I back up my iTunes purchases (music and apps). If so, how?

Thanks.

There's no special way; just copy all the music and apps (and videos, podcasts, etc.) to a backup location. You can re-add these files to iTunes if you ever need to.

1) In Itunes on the Mac, import the files using import on the file menu.
2) Back them up as usual. Re-import if you ever need to. That'll work for the music, and probably the apps too.
