The sound sync in Dancing on Ice last night on ITV HD was shocking. The video was a good half second in front of the sound at least. Sound sync on ITV HD has been bad for some time but it was the worst its ever been last night for me. Did anyone else have the same? I know it is supposed to be a "known fault" as per the Sky forums, but it also affects Freedview HD as well as far as I am aware, and has been a problem for over a year apparently.

I have the Pace DTS850NB box with a Samsung F1 1T drive in it. I'd be interested to see if anyone here DOESN'T have sync issues with ITV HD and what gear they have.

If you're going to try some oh so predictable put down, at least try to spell "watching" correctly. I tuned in to see Chemmy Alcott, being a skiing fan, if you must know.

it was going wappy for me too. i ended up flicking channels to see if it was my system being out of sync.

watching the footy wasnt so bad but i couldnt watch people as it felt all wrong.

and why the hell dont ITV do dolby digital? its the only HD channel that doesnt seem to.

btw - using Denon 1910, B&W 684 theatre and toshiba regza TV (cant remember model but its a decent one not the cheapo ones) and my amp has lipsync feature

Was watching Harry potter the other day down the mum in law's and that was about 0.2 seconds out. On Virgin ITV HD. Wasn't too bad but you could tell the sync was out a touch.

Not really acceptable in my opinion. How hard can it be to transmit the audio and video properly?

Just had another check of my ITV HD and yes it appears it is about a millisecond out (voice after picture) but I had to really pay attention to notice it.

However I do get Dolby Digital out of it - but it was only 2.0 DD (London Tonight and last nights FA Cup highlights).

This is a well known issue with all ITV HD wether on Sky, Virgin or Freeview.

It must be from ITV's end because it cant be the providers! They refuse to accept its their problem!

to be fair we hardly ever watch ITV so its not a big issue for me.

by DD i mean 5.1 on movies. lots of HD channels can do this now so i dont know why ITV cant
