There are always loads of things like that, but I assume some people actually do go and buy every single issue.
And I'm better almost every single poster (ok ok, a lot of posters...) less than 25 has bought at least one issue of that magazine on dinosaurs that came with 3D glasses and every week came with a figure to build a T-rex
I know someone at primary school that completed t-rex, not just the skeleton, but the outer shell

I've got a massive folder of them back at home, never built the T-Rex, but the 3D pictures were the best bit

The thing is, if you did spend that kind of money (money to burn attitude if you did) where would you keep it?

Silly amount of money to pay for a not very good model, i'd rather spend the money on lego and build my own, at least when you get bored of it you can build something else
I had a friend that built one of those magazine 'robots'. Collected all the bits from each issue, took him a year or two. Suffice to say, I was his only friend

Lol no I work out those Wonga Conn adverts too where if you take out a small personal loan are over 1999%apr so that if you borrow 200 for a week you end up owing 2 grand or something (not exact figures but trust me the real ones are just as eyewatering).

My son has the entire collection of World Aircraft magazines in the loft. About 20 binders of them. Quite an interesting read, probably worth a canny bit as well.
But that Bond car thing is just downright pathetic. £580 for a hunk of Chinese monkey metal that's far too big to actually put on display anywhere.

Did anyone buy into the 'Ral Robots' thing? My Grandma did for me when I was about 13, she didn't realise it would end up costing like £400, it was a load of toss too!

I own one of those, imported it from hong-kong & it worked out about half the price of what they are in the UK.

I had that magazine. I've got about three full binders of 30 odd issues in the bookcase. The full T Rex is somewhere to, although it isn't standing anymore..
. I think they started giving out parts for a Triceratops after that.You're better off buying a proper model kit from a reputable source. There must be dozens of kits for the Goldfinger Aston Martin lying around. I remember there used to be a little stall/shop in the middle of the Mander Center here in Wolverhampton that sold kits for everything from Airfix, Star Wars, Battlestar, Ships etc. Shame it's no longer there

Had it 4 years and it still isn't finished, to be honest it probably never will Bought metal tracks for it,lots of white metal parts,photo etched parts & 2 gearboxes from the states to replace the tamiya ones so it will do it's correct scale speed.
It'll end up on ebay one of these days

Guy I work with built a nitro RC car from one of these mags, cost him over 500 quid!
He wanted me to sell it for him on ebay thinking it was worth that much,,,, (you can get better cars for 40 quid)
Only driven it twice, second time he nearly destroyed it by running full speed into a curb, just skimmed it in the end.
Has since built 2 boats(never used) and now building a 8 foot wing span spitfire!!
Having never flown anything before, the first (and last) flight should be interesting!
Let's just say he and his wife aren't that good with money, they love all the shopping channels as well.
He wanted me to sell it for him on ebay thinking it was worth that much,,,, (you can get better cars for 40 quid)

When I was a kid I remember having some of the subscription stuff, mostly educational where you got a magazine/book that was informative, but then also got to make up something as well.
My concern with this is that can you really fill 85 issues with 'Behind the Scenes' information about the Bond Movies... I reckon it will be pretty weak.
As for the cost, well let's not be coy about it... these types of magazines have always been quite dear, the idea though is you are enticed by the first edition with the model and keep buying it because of it, without ever thinking about what it will actually cost to get them all.
