James May's Man Lab

Didn't watch it the description sound a bit rubbish, compared to his other stuff.

I only caught the bit where they were making the concrete kitchen top... I thought that was pretty cool.

I've really liked the looked of polished concrete on programs like grand design, especially when they add stuff to it.

Okay, in theory, this sounded like a good idea, a show to teach all those totally flowery metrosexuals, how to at least appear to have some degree of alphaness.

But honestly.. it is a big pile of steaming brown stuff.

Is it just me being a grumpy old man, or did James May, really miss the mark this time?

Agreed.
I hated the first episode, but I thought I would give it a second chance 'cause I usually like James May stuff.

The latest episode is just as bad as the last, if not worse.

It's pansy man lab IMO :(

there is a fatal flaw with his whole train idea, and that is quite simply that it is dependant on there being someone, in the kitchen area, to control the train for him.

As to the concrete worktop, so far as I could tell, they just poured concrete into a wooden frame, with no finishing done at all, so in a real world situation, would be completely not suited to the task.

This week, I got as far as the 'grade 1 music' scene, before I had to turn it off.

Someone made one on Grand Designs a few weeks back and the one James May made blew it out of the water.

I am finding the programme a struggle to get through because bits of it are so stupid.

It's because colour blind people find the old colours harder to differentiate between.

Ah-ha
