January Transfer Rumours

Looks like Theo will be on his way somewhere then, wonder if he will spend the rest of the season on loan back at saints? I honestly think he would be better off siging for Arsenal and spending the rest of this season and next season at saints with a manager like burley (provided he doesn't get sacked/quit!) it would aid his development a lot more than playing Carling Cup football. All this talk of Arsenal playing youngsters is fine but how many of them are 16 year old kids who have only just done there GCSE's when he hits his peak I will be just about ready to hang up my 5 a-side boots!

He can only sign a 3 year deal, so I doubt he will be loaned back straight away it makes no monetary sense, particularly for a whole season, till the end of this season would make sense. Cesc made his debut at 16, and was a first team regular at 17.

Southampton could get stung badly by this, he could leave via a tribunal in March, which may be a low £0.5m. I don't like the way Chelsea seem to be interested in players just to stop other teams buying them. Walcott should also look at what happen to SWP once he joined Chelsea.

Honestly which of Liverpools starting 11 would you replace with him? Having watched him this season he obviously has huge potential and is possibly the fastest player I've ever seen, but he is still so young, he is inconsistent and always gets caught offside and his finishing is definately not ready for the pressure cooker environment of the premierships elite.

I'm hoping he is to nice to do the dirty on us and leave for the tribunal fee, plus I believe we have a written agreement that he will sign on his birthday, probably not worth the paper it's written on! I except we could get badly stung and that the money been talked about is pretty decent, I just think for his personal development he is better off out of the spotlight under a good manager where he can play every week without to much expectation.

We take a risk by turning down alots of Money and signing him to a proper deal he could fail to fulfill his potential or worse still some championship jouney man could earn a name for himself by snapping young Theos legs and he could never play again, bet the insurance pay out wouldn't be 12 million or even the 5 we get upfront from Arsenal!

If Crouch is considered currently to be first choice striker, id play Walcott along side him in the 4-4-2 formation and try and develop him into a forward/striker like Henry. Although i think he plays midfield for southampton, so if he'd rather do that we could easily utilise him down the right wing.

******* Barton !!!!

What Fergie trying to do fill the team with scousers

We better see these 2 big signings not ******* Barton

If i was Theo Walcott i wouldn't want to leave Southampton for another 2 seasons...
he is in danger of becoming another Jermaine Pennant...
Arsenal signed him when he was 15 for 2million from Notts County and he hardy made it big at the club did he!!!!

He will be better off going to Arsenal

He's got more chance of starting for Arsenal pretty much straight away
he will rot in Chelskis reserves if he goes there

Ill be honest, i think Barton is ok.

He's no Pele, hell he's no Robbie savage, but he'd be better than having the the boy Smith there at DM.

The only reason chelsea are bidding is to stop Arsenal getting him, he will NOT play for chelsea if he goes there.
Just like have done to SWP, and they did to Parker, any decent player that it comes to their attention another club is after, they will snap him up and shunt him away never to be seen again.

I would rather have one of the big powerful midfielders about at the minute

Fair enough Barton would fill a gap this season, but would you really
want him there for the next 2-3 years?

That Diarra for me or i still wouldnt mind Ballack

That cupboard down at stamford bridge is getting fuller by the season

The ones they lock away from other clubs, cant see RA doing that for much longer

To be fair Pennant never had his head screwed on. He would still be at Arsenal if he hadn't crashed his car, whilst drunk, and then decided to tell the Police his name was Ashley Cole.

Yep. This is why Chelsea are bad for football imo. Signing players to stop other teams signing them. By all account JM doesn't rate Walcott at all. They also tried to sign Abou Diaby for that reason. I'm sure SWP and his father are pleased they sent him to Chelsea now, his World Cup dreams, are exactly that now, dreams. I'm sure the few million Wright got for sendinp SWP to Chelsea will make him feel better

I think Smiths done a cracking job. I would certainly take Smith over Savage.

No, not in a million years, Savage even though he is a total **** is a midfielder, even though he lacks overall ability, still has the vision that years of playing in a position gives you, he sees off the ball runners, he can see moves developing, he has a fair idea of where he needs to be 3 or 4 passes down the line.

Smith is like a terrier, he sees someone with the ball, he goes for it, he doesnt track back, he doesnt see where the next pass is going.
I love the guy, but he is no DM.

Id prefer him to play instead of Scholes with a dedicated holding player, because although he may not have the passing range, he is stronger, better in the tackle, and is not afraid to pile into to those headers on the edge of the box.

Im a bit bias but i still think he should go to Liverpool, he'd probably get on to the bench straight away there at least, certainly first team football im sure.
You may be biased but you're wrong. You think he'd get in ahead of Crouch (Rafa's golden boy), Moro, Cisse or Pongolle?
