January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

RT @James_Dart: By my reckoning, Andy Carroll has fewer career goals (34) than millions about to be lavished upon him #lfc #nufc

What happened to football :(

You can literally smell the desperation at Anfield from here.

Four and a bit Rafael van der Vaarts
Five Javier Hernandez's
A Darren Bent and a half.

Ace.

Why would Forlan leave Atletico? For England? When he was ****ing woeful here and scores for fun in Spain...

Some people just aren't suited to the league. If he's doing so well in Spain I wonder why he would even bother coming back here. Unless he thinks he's got something to prove.

Remember that Forlan really never got a run of starts at UTd, there are thousands of players who aren't good as subs, or don't gain confidence and form at a new club without a run of games. There are a handful of "super subs" in world football, the most starts he had at Utd was 10 in one year, he got 4 goals and 4 assists, with loads of sub appearances, year before he had 7 starts, 6 goals, 2 assists.

As for leaving Athletico, they are RUBBISH this year, they are on a downward spiral and as many times as they win they lose 4-0, or seemingly so. They've lost as many games as they've won now, and really don't look likely to move up in the league in the next few years, more likely down.

At Forlan's age I think he probably would make the jump to a champs league club for one final contract, however I doubt Spurs would be that club.

**Cough** Seriously Fergie, offer Liverpool Rooney. If they're willing to spend £35million on Carroll..:D

Throw in Gibson and Obertan too.

That would be the best outcome for us during this transfer window.

At least will give us a fighting chance for the Champions League place (yes I know its a long shot, but its been a crazy session so far and has already been proven that anything can happen).

Then let Torres go in the summer, and if we manage to qualify for CL who knows who we will be able to bring in :)

And more likely you don't qualify for CL, your hand would be forced to sell at least a couple of big names in the summer with the prospect of bringing in nobody, except maybe a new manager.

Would you really want him to sell Rooney to Liverpool, and suddenly Roon starts firing on all cylinders again?

Apart from his goals last season, when has he ever been firing on all cylinders?

To be honest, it's just I can't explain how frustrating it is to see a player get paid so much money for being nothing short of average. Nevermind the fact he's stopping an on-form Hernandez from starting the majority of the time.

Age, nationality, and form come in to it a lot I would think. Then add on the last day multiplier and you get your final figure. Who knows it could end up a complete failure, or a complete bargain.

If you had £50m burning a hole in your pocket, why wouldn't you go chucking it at the likes of Atletico for Ageuro? Or see if Real can be persuaded to part with Benzema? Or use a chunk of it to get RvN on loan, til you can actually look to buy the kind of striker you really want in the summer?

Madness.

I'm sat here laughing my arse off at Liverpool. Andy ****ing Carroll for £35,000,000!!!!

I think Newcastle's season is safe. Wait until the summer and you guys will have an even better striker than Andy Carroll.
