While my theories were tongue in cheek, I'm not sure if you're being serious.

There's no chance we're signing Carroll if we still want to keep Torres. You've got to assume that anyway.

While we're massively over spending on Carroll, after the past 2 seasons it's nice to see we've got money to spend again.

edit: Talk of the Torres - Chelsea deal being £48m + Anelka.

edit2: I didn't see it myself but somebody has just said SSN are reporting that Nolan is driving Carroll to Liverpool. Maybe we are signing both

If Liverpool pay £35million for Andy Carroll they are getting a player outscored in the Championship last season by Peter Whittingham, Nicky Maynard, Gary Hooper, Michael Chopra and Charlie Adam.
