January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

I would say man city need a striker, Tevez is the only one scoring. you cannot put all of the burden on him. its like the same situation as liverpool, all of the burden is on Torres.

Both of these teams need another striker that performs well consistently to partner up with what they have currently. Balotelli is a winger mostly, but has been rotated to play up front when needed, he is versatile just like liverpool do with Babel.

I just don't see where another striker fits in the system really.
System?

You seem to have confused Manchester City with a team that won't just go and ***** £30-40m on a new player because their existing ones are slightly off form.

Manchester United need a goalkeeper in January...well they have needed one for the past 2 seasons at least. They also need at least 1 midfielder - creative specifically.

Liverpool won't sell anyone. If they do, it'll be someone random.

Manchester City need 2 strikers, 2 more midfielders and 1 defender. :p

Not sure why United would buy a striker, let alone one for 35mil, Diouf on loan at Blackburn is it, looked pretty handy, powerful, some good ideas. Then you've got Hernandez, Berbatov and if Rooney ever got back some form, him, thats 3 starters, one with a lot of potential and then Bebe if he turns out to be worth the cash then he'll be another one as back/for the future.

Buy Dezko and drop your 200k a week Rooney, or your top scorer best playmaker Berbatov. I can't see Fergie dropping 20mil for someone he would fully expect to be on the bench most of the time, let alone 35mil.

Utd will be looking for Scholes/Giggs replacements, probably a Hargreaves replacement and a right back who is half decent.

Arsenal, no clue, probably yet another striker, if(and its a pretty damn big if) RVP is actually fit for any length of time, you've got Chamakh, Bendtner, RVP, Theo, Vela, we're either going to continue wasting a midfield spot on Theo, or keep 4 strikers benched in favour of one. Hopefully we will buy another CB, youngish, cheap, cheap wages but better than Djourou who is just absymal.

I will echo the sentiments of Hamsik and Schweinsteiger, if Man United managed to get them two then thats their midfield more or less sorted, maybe a new defensive minded midfielder as well.

I would love to see a pacey, naturally left sided player though, I really am an admirer of Marin and would love to see him in the EPL!

Why?

VdS has been playing well (other than that dropped ball, but I think you can safely say that's the exception for him)

Would make no sense signing a keeper until VdS retires.

If Man United sign anyone this January I will admit that Biz is lord of the earth and my saviour.

Quoting just so you can't edit it when you buy OShea mkII :p

I don't want City to buy anyone in January. I want us to get our heads down and start playing as a team with the players we've got. I *really* want to see Balotelli starting to get game time and getting his position in the team. 30 from him and 30 from Tevez and we'll call it a day :p

Could end up with another Foster, loads of potential but can't take the big stage. A club as big as man utd should be able to tempt a decent keeper and ease him in over half a season

I don't think I've seen many big clubs ease in a keeper, it can cause more harm than good doing it that way. And we shouldn't be signing one with potential, I'd rather we went for another experienced one.

Akinfeev (as an example who has been linked very strongly with Man Utd and said he would love to play for them) has played Champions League football and also plays regularly for Russia at an international level.

He wouldn't cost an obscene amount either I dont think, so would be ideal in my opinion.

He wouldn't be my first option. It's still a massive step up from Russia to the Premier League for a fairly young keeper. Buffon would always be my favourite if we could get him for the right price.

Every time I watch Akinfeev he seems to make a clanger or just look generally shaky, definitely doesn't look like the goalkeeper some people say he is to me

I don't agree there. I do as well and if he plays like those first 15mins we have a quality player on our hands, the rest of the game highlighted many things which we were told and i hope that Mancini knows what hes doing with him.
His position is on the bench when Tevez is back unless someone dresses as Mancini and plays 2 STRIKERS and 2 'WINGERS' whilst keeping the solid midfield eg De Jong--Toure
Team for utd game considering no injuries:
----Tevez----Balotelli-----
----------Silva-----------
---Milner---De Jong---Johnson
Kolarov--Toure---Kompany--Zab
-----------Hart---------------

Hugo Lloris would be a good signing for utd.
Always looked good in the champions league lyon matches i have watched and still young. Would command 20m+ though probably.

So does Casillas, and he's pretty good :p

Yeah, I'd take Lloris quite happily too.
