Post lap, lol

Think the reason they are holding out is because they know that is good value in the current market if you take the "issues" away.

well that's just ridiculous. they'd be mad not to take £10m for him, he's trouble and doesn't want to be there. i know they have money to burn but they look more stupid holding out for what they paid for him rather than just cut him out.

but he causes "issues" at every club he plays for - its not just a one off.

He may be a great player for 18 months, but the grief after that which he causes isnt worth the loss of £10m or so in transfer fee and how ever much he would want in wages

thats why at that price he isnt good value (otherwise more clubs would be in for him)

(I have no idiea at all why Inter bid 25m euros)

How are we looking stupid? we are holding our ground and not being bulldozed to get what Tevez wants or rather Kia wants. We are doing the right thing for holding out for a good sum of money.

He's trouble? what trouble is he causing? he is no where near the team at the moment. All he is doing is giving the papers something to write about every day.

We have no need to cut him on a cheap deal, it will make us look stupid and Kia will revel in having proven player power can run the game.

Luckily we have the financial muscle not to succumb to what he wants.

Fail to see how anything we are doing is making us look stupid.

And yes i think it was around 25.5m.

Does the Samba rumour have any legs? Not a bad signing if we can ditch Squillachi / Djourou. Verm + Samba is a good pairing as is Kos + Samba if we need Verm to play left back. Any news on when Wilshire is back?

Wilshere is meant to be back on the 4th feb i think.

As for the Samba rumours??...i havent see anywhere thats mentioned it...usually the Daily Fail will have something regarding any new signings for Arsenal but even they havent got anything on him.

Not really sure about Samba tbh, hes a decent enough player as it is and i dont blame the guy for wanting to get away from Blackburn...was reading that Blackburn are so incensed by his transfer request that they have demanded money back from him lol.

Wasn't it 25.5m?

About £25.5 mil was the reported figure

And yes i think it was around 25.5m.

It didn't get a great deal of coverage at the time and I have to say that I hadn't picked up on it until it was reported again recently but reportedly he cost considerably more than £25.5m.

The £25.5m figure was talked about because David Gill confirmed that's what Utd had agreed to pay as part of their deal when they initially loaned him. That wasn't necessarily the asking price once Tevez rejected the offer to stay at Utd though. The Times, Independent and Guardain all reported that the fee that City paid could be as much as £47m.

that's quite shocking if true!

what with the reported 220k a week as well.

SSN say David Weir is leaving Rangers to continue his playing career in England.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Undergoing a medical apparently. Hopefully we are bringing him in to play alongside Ba and not as his replacement

you have to wonder...Pardew was just saying he wasnt looking to bring in a striker..then you sign one when really the position you need to fill is central defense

still at least ypu will get to see if they play together at the ACON

It would be stupid if it was anyone else but the fact that his wages are completely a non-issue is... well, ridiculous.

Apparently deal is done £7.5mill, getting finalised in the next hour or two as the bloke is off to the cup of nations as well.

We still need a defender and midfielder though, flash the cash some Cashley!

From what I understand is the Cisse deal was almost done before the season started? We where in talks with them but it fell though.

I got really exited when we where linked with him in the summer.

also rumours are coming that Simpson contract is almost sorted

"Initial reports of a £10m fee gave way to one in the region of £7.5m-£8m plus the inevitable add-ons. As to whether there's a release clause, we'll have to wait for the next Tottenham press conference to find that out..."

:D

Great news. His record speaks for itself.
