Oh, I so cannot wait for the end of the African Cup of Nations.....
It wasn't a blatant lie though was it because he didn't follow the managers orders which was to warm up to come on.
He was found to be in breach of his contract multiple times so Tevez wasn't exactly a saint in the situation was he.
You don't have to be ecstatic but you don't go AWOL and try and engineer your own moves away from the club behind the back of the club and then start using your "advisor" to undermine the club at every situation.
So it makes it ok to go AWOL because Mancini had said things about him?He went AWOL LONG after Mancini had said on several different occasions he'll never play for him again.
Be honest, training on his own, not with the first team, when you won't ever play with the team because your manager has said he won't play you.......... if he trains or not at the right times at that point is irrelevant isn't it?
As for a blatant lie, yes, Mancini did lie and was being petulant and stupid and deflecting from MANY poor choices in the game(ones which he still makes, Nasri and Silva on the wings against decent teams, lol).
Imagine you're, I dunno, working in a lawyer's firm and the boss is giving you crap, he demands you make him a coffee, then when you make it, he says its not good enough and demands you do it again, and again and again.
He's warmed up, at that point there isn't more warming up to do, as I understand it he didn't refuse to warm up, he just said he was ready to go on and Mancini over reacted like a spoilt child having a bad day.
Mancini had already had a shout at Dzeko for being angry at being taken off, quite rightly, and he had a go at Zabaleta for good measure.
Personally I think there was a fair amount of misunderstanding in the whole situation and its fairly unlikely Tevez did anything but say he didn't need to warm up and Mancini probably misunderstood the message to him. But the way Mancini reacted, if Tevez refused to come off, refused to warm up, or did nothing at all, was awful, he did lie, he caused a HUGE public commotion over something that should have been completely private, internal and not an issue.
The actual fine given in the end well, it wasn't huge and always came across as face saving, realistically at that point they had two options didn't they, back Tevez completely which would basically have made Mancini's job untenable, or back him to a certain degree. At which point they should have been looking to offload Tevez quickly, for whatever they could get.
The longer it drags on frankly the stupider Mancini and the club look.
So it makes it ok to go AWOL because Mancini had said things about him?
The reason he was on his own was because he returned from the Copa America late and was working with a physio to get his fitness back up. Either so he can be sold or can return to the team.
No he didn’t lie. Did Tevez follow Mancini’s instructions yes or no?
Those poor choices have put us top of the league so heres hoping he keeps making them!
(Lol at you if you also thought that this team was going to immediately play fantastic with both Nasri and Silva in the team)
Well if your paid 200k a week you do exactly what you are told again and again. It is his job to play football. Part of that job requires following instructions from a "high ranked" person in this case Mancini.
So what if he thinks he is warmed up, Mancini is telling him to do it again. Why doesn’t he go and do it?
Shouted at him for doing nothing in the game….understandable. Having a go at Zaba to talk some sense into Tevez most likely.
The fine was nearly 1m until the PFA halved it amazingly. Not exactly a low fine was it.
I think Onouha would do really well at Newcastle, surprised that you haven't come in for him considering the lack of depth in defence. He has played for Sunderland but would you mind that much?

What a capture Newcastle have made with Cisse.
Completely unknown to myself, but after watching videos of the player, I think PL defences are going to be quite scared now!!!
All I hope now is we keep all our current players with lots of eyes looking at the likes of Ba, Cabaye, Krul and Tiote. I would also like to include our scouting team and coaching team too, as they are the backbone to our current success.
Think we all as Newcastle supporters need to give the Mike Ashley bashing a good long break now, I hold my hands up myself and will admit I have called the man. But he or derek llambias or whoever are doing a cracking job at the club, the following events have come to prove that someone working in the background at Newcastle knows football more than any Newcastle United fan. The sale of Nolan was genius, Cabaye has been a revelation and players like Nolan and Barton (too big for their own boots) needed to be shown the door as a warning sign to all other players that no one person is bigger than the club.
Also on the defender front, YES we do need a CB desperately. But I would like to take this time to show my appreciation for the job Mike Williamson is doing currently, stepping in straight away and doing a job for the team. Also with Stevey T on the mend Newcastle are a force to be reckoned with come next season, Europe is almost a certainty if we keep players from sale and injury (touches wood).
Also the next major event is the contract renewal of the influential skipper Colo, he has been sensational this season, and it's rare to find a defender who can A) defend and B) play football!! His touches are sublime, ball control is impeccable, and he controls the defence. He has become some player over the last few seasons

I wouldn't hold out too much hope about players not being sold. Part of the business model is to buy cheap and sell expensive in order to fund further acquisitions, so you can expect the likes of Tiote, Cabaye and Krul to go in the next year or so, but suitable replacements will be found.
