Just don't understand why Pardew just wont play Ben Arfa there :/ He plays on the wing for France....

The way Egghead and talyor played past few games he will have to soon.

HE likes players who work hard and track back, that's why Ben Arfa is getting a lot less game time. Hopefully he'll learn! :)

A right winger isn't a desperate need like a defender as raylor and Obe do a job but a better winger would only help. God knows who though :p

Newcastle have a really solid team now, I think if they manage to stay within the top 7 or 8 teams that can be a nice platform for them to push on from provided they keep the team spirit and they continue to give Pardew funds.

Its funny that UTD dont really feature as one of europes passing clubs. of course you could argue that we have a weakened midfield so we havent been passing like we could do. But id be interested to see last seasons stats too.

Im pretty sure its because we play a lot of direct, medium to long range passes that are frequently inaccurate.

Should be quite a high completion rate for you though, what with all those sideways and backwards passes from that super creative central midfield... :p

Beating that old drum again NickG.

Just surprised you managed not to mention buying Carroll or N'****bia.

I take the point, that United haven't passed the ball in the midfield as much, but that's due to the way United have been set up recently and the lack of Cleverly / Anderson.

There'll be a lot more of that now.

Rightly so too. Not going to get anywhere selling some of our best players and bringing in loanees while Bates pockets the cash or spends it on silly hotels while we make do with free transfers. I feel this could be the final straw for many fans, I bet the session ticket renewals will be even lower now.

Thats why id like to see last seasons stats as i said, because it would be a bit unfair otherwise.

But you're right it does reinforce what i said, if you are going to play like that, why not have the players on hand who can deal with it? Our ethos has never been to pass our opponents silly. Some of our corners make me angry, the ones where we pass it short, and then back, and then back to the half way line and then they punt it forward, such fail and so unecessary.

I'll disagree about the passing in midfield as long as United have employed Scholes they've played a good passing game in the middle of the park. I've also always seen United as a side that makes full use of the wings and wingers and often play a in a very counter attacking style.

I can't really remember United playing hoof ball.

It doesn't reinforce what you said, the side has 2/4 passing mid fielders out (I'm not counting Scholes) and they've changed the balance of the midfield to suit having players out.

I definitely agree with that, even at the start of the season when you sold Nolan and had the trouble with Barton it seemed like same old same old Newcastle hitting the self destruct button but fair play no ones thinking like that now. Newcastle look very much a top 7 club and certainly above the likes of Everton now imo
I remember looking at the Newcastle squad the other day and realising how good their starting XI actually is. Like you, I'd say there's the quality there to be in the top 7.

Re the Howson deal. I am a Leeds fan and can see if a player does not want to sign you can't make them. I just hope we can use the money that comes in for a few loans or permanent moves.
Howson wants to play at a higher level and if I was in his shoes I would want to further my career in a higher level if I had the ability.

The problem is, we get garbage players on loan and the fat old cockney pockets large sums of money.

Got to face it, we are going no where. Bates is just paying us back from when Leeds trashed his new Chelsea scoreboard at Stamford bridge all them years ago :D

Townsend looks ok from Spurs. He seems to try to do too much, I think he is just trying to impress. I am not sure about Rodgers I haven't seen him play yet. I keep seeing Leeds linked with all these midfielders but not a hint of a defender.
We have Snoddy on a contract so hopefully he isn't going anywhere(famous last words).
Also Somma should be back soon.

I think it's fair to say Pardew and HBA are not friends!! He doesn't fit into Pardew's plans, which is a shame as on his day HBA is our best player on the pitch.

I don't think we have a burning desire for a winger, we currently have Marveux injured who is an exceptional talent. I'd also love to see Jonas play right wing, and HBA left wing.

We do have an exceptional starting XI now. Here's how I would start given we had no injuries

Krul, Simpson, Taylor, Colo, Santon, Jonas, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Ba, Cisse

Subs: Elliot, Raylor, Williamson, Guthrie, Marveux, Obertan, Best

Over the next few years expect the likes of Abeid, Vukic, Tavernier, Moyo to shine through.
