11 goals in 17 appearances in the league this season from Dzeko.

But only 1 since October isn't it? and that was on Monday. He started amazingly well, but has gone off the boil somewhat. He didn't set the world alight last season either. The jury is still out on him tbh.

I hope they both come good (Dzeko and Cisse). I much prefer to see talent in the EPL than expensive flops. Even if they do play for Newcastle :p

I think it's fair to say Pardew and HBA are not friends!!

I wouldn't go that far. My understanding is that Pardew wants more defensive work out of HBA, which he certainly showed at the weekend. If he's willing to do that then he's on the team sheet.

Also, it was Pardew who sanctioned the purchase of HBA. His initial loan was because Houghton couldn't make up his mind.

I have a client who is a local radio presenter who also does work at the matches and he informs me that until recently it was HBA that insisted he was not fit enough to start for the team and not Pardew keeping him on the bench. How true it is though I dont know?

lol, have people really been listening to WIlkins who all game long wouldn't shut up about Arfa giving away the ball and Pardew wanting someone safer.

Here's a hint, Wilkins is a pratt, Arfa is still not match fit and giving the ball away isn't bad. If EVERY play refuses to. Pardew like any smart manager realises that you need plays who attack and are not afraid to lose the ball. If 11 players pass sideways and backwards, you lose....... if that was Pardew's game plan, 4-4-2 wouldn't be seen anywhere near Newcastle.

He was out for a long time, Arfa is still "sensitive" about his leg, completely understandably, and while he shows moments of sheer class, he is still young and still not at the absolute top of his game.

Also Somma should be back soon.

Wouldn't say soon, he's only just started running again recently. He'll be at least 6 weeks before they even think about risking him in a reserve game.

On the transfer front though I really hope we bring somebody in at the back, it's ok sorting the midfield out but we are still weakest at the back, hopefully we can try sort something out for Lichaj again once he is recovered from his knee injury.

Hmm. I'm not convinced that Taiwo would be the right signing for a team in a relegation fight. Time will tell I guess (that's on the basis they actually sign him)

yes, and also, freddy adu isn't anywhere as good as he was made up to be either. his early promise never matured i understand.

Adu is still good, he's back playing in the MLS (iirc) and doing well for himself, but alas no never lived up to the 'hype'

There could be a number of reasons Baz, I'm just not sure he's the type of player that will dig in and help in a relegation fight. Time will tell.
