January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

I am intrigued as to what players Wenger thinks we need, got a feeling i'm going to be disappointed.

Wenger disappointing Arsenal fans in a transfer window?? Get out of here! You must be thinking of a different Wenger.

In recent years he has introduced several world class, fully blooded internationals into the squad such as Chamakh the Moroccan Magician, Park the Korean fox in the box, the superb, Andre 'I can and will play anywhere on the pitch' Santos and Gervinho, he's so good his name ends in 'inho' :p

Ba has agreed a 3 and a half year contract with Chelsea

Hopefully he passes his medical and we can move on quickly.

LOL'ing here:p

Pretty much nailed it, i dont expect and never will expect Wenger or Arsenal to bring in world class players anymore. What we can expect perhaps in this window and the summer window is more mediocre players being signed to long term contracts ie Chamakh is a prime example, long contract being paid good money for not even playing, other teams probably want him but they cant match the wages we are giving him lol.

What Wenger and Arsenal need to do and ive been saying it for the past few seasons, is get rid of the deadwood in the club ie Rosicky, Diaby, Chamakh and a few others, either buy out their contracts and ditch them or sell them for a loss...it doesnt matter but as long as we get rid of them and get in replacements that are better than what we have.

This is why i think any new manager coming in to Arsenal would have a hell of a job trying to get of the **** Wenger has signed in the past 5 yrs or so.

But ill be shocked if Wenger buys a world class and i mean a genuine world class player ever again for Arsenal.

At least Walcott is getting close to signing a new contract, iirc its around £90k a week so not quite £100k but still a lot of money for a player. Hes obviously playing for a new contract so has decided to pick up his game:p...sure call me pessimistic but i wonder if he does sign the contract whether or not he will continue his good form or go back to being basically a useless player with lots of pace and no end product. Wenger has said that he sees him playing thru the middle so maybe thats his position now.

This is what I am hoping for! although he was fairly rubbish vs Southampton

You hit the nail on the head there. Although I'd keep Rosicky. He offers a lot more in all areas than Ramsey at the moment. talks about Djourou going to Hannover which will mean we either push Miguel up in the pecking order or we'll be seeing Squillaci on the bench

I wouldn't be surprised to see us sign Huntelaar but he's approaching 30 and seems to be a quick fix to our problems up front which has been the problem of the past few seasons, all our signings seem to be quick fixes (which don't really fix anything but seem to cause more problems) and not thought out longer term replacements.

I think Walcott is upping his game specifically to test the water with other clubs right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he's holding out to see if he gets any interest from another big club which he specifically sees as having more chance of success in their relative domestic and international cups and leagues. If he doesn't get such an offer then I think he will sign a new contract with Arsenal in the summer.

I got a hunch its as much about success as it is money for him.

a bigger club like who? city or united don't need him, neither do chelsea, spurs can't afford him and aren't in the cl.

that leaves liverpool. and i'll get flamed for (supposed) baiting here (again) but liverpool are not a bigger club than arsenal.

No idea, which I why I think he's upping his game and stalling on the contract. Just to see if any offers do come in. Maybe some European club will look at him and think his pace can disrupt their leagues or something.

I don't think Spurs would sign him and nor do I think he would sign anyway. But that aside could you imagine the pace of an attack with him Bale and Lennon?

We won't sign Huntelaar full stop, he wouldn't come to Arsenal and I doubt Wenger would buy him.

Arsenal will buy world class stars, there are sooo many top players who are criminally under rated, we just won't buy stupid expensive ones, nor should we, nor should any club really. For every 50mil Torres there is a free transfer Ba, footballers are a continually refreshing commodity. There is only one Messi and Ronaldo, but every year another 10 players who will have outstanding careers appear and another 100 VERY good players appear, and another 200 pretty decent players appear.

Walcott IS crap, offers little in his best performances, and literally when you see his goals they aren't things only he is capable of. Very very very VERY few of his goals are really basic, the number of times he even beats one player before shooting is stupidly low, the number of times he holds off defenders or does something crazy good before shooting is painfully low. As I've said for ages and other people seem to be noting, Walcott has tried a tad harder in the past 2 months, the second his contract is signed(okay maybe 3-4 games later) he'll be in "easy" mode again.

He isn't however in good form, he scores when the team is playing well(usually against poor opposition) and he scores mostly very easy goals the vast majority of the premier league players could score. His movement to get into the positions to score these goals isn't incredible either, they are as simple as you like goals and the only kind he can score.

Rosicky is rubbish, and yes, he offers more than Ramsey :p

But I've been saying it for over 5 years, the problem is Wenger thinks Ramsey, Rosicky and Diaby are TOP class players. If you had Messi, Cesc and Xavi, you don't get rid of them or look for replacements..... Wenger thinks we have great players who don't need replacing and so won't replace them, its really that simple.

He had the option of selling Gibbs and buying an actual defender, but he chose Gibbs, he looked at the way he played and said, 4 more years at left back, sure, and signed him up......... we'll not improve under Wenger because Wenger doesn't think we need to improve :(

If it was about success he'd be playing better when Arsenal have a chance to do well, he doesn't, he doesn't ever show up, harder cup games, Walcott plays crap and we lose out on chances of success. he wants money, nothing more or less, players who thrive on success and don't care about the money play their best each and every game no matter where they are.

Players who thrive on success want to play well every game, simple as that, Bellamy is a guy with 100% drive, who never EVER gives less than his absolute best on the field. If Walcott put in 1/3rd of the effort of Bellamy he'd be a much better player. Walcott is the absolute epitome of a player who only cares about the money.... if it was purely about success he'd have played to his best and forced a move years and years ago.

Walcott rarely uses his pace and is pretty easily caught when running with the ball unless he has a huge headstart... he absolutely doesn't use his pace as a weapon.

Bale will run 30 yards to get to a ball just before it goes out, then take it to goal and create or score a goal(or dive :p ). Walcott is a guy who supposedly at the fastest in the league maybe, see's a ball that far away and turns around and concedes the goal kick without even trying. Bale will use his pace, run after a ball and fight a fullback/cb with power and strength to win the ball, if Walcott see's a fight up ahead of him 9/10 times he decides not to even try.

Pace is only a weapon if you use it, having pace means nothing at all when you choose to stand still 9 out of 10 times you could use it.

I think Liverpool's pass pass pass style of play will help Sturridge get out of his selfish habits as a player and it could work out as a really good move for him and the club.

Fingers crossed anyway as he certainly has the potential there.

Talk***** saying Joe Cole has gone.

Looks very likely - some West Ham player tweeted that Cole was training with them today so I imagine it's just the paper work that needs signing off now.

Reportedly we're paying him £3m to leave which sounds crazy but when you consider that we're committed to paying him the best part of £7.5m over the next 18 months and how useless he is, we've got off lightly.

Forren looks like he could be on the way to us. Solskjaer has said that they're in talks with a club to finalise the move so he didn't travel with the club for their training camp.

It's Everton or Man Utd by the sound of it.

Ive been saying that since hes hit his good form that hes playing out of skin so that either we give him what he wants wages wise or he gets interest from other clubs who are willing to give him high wages.

Saying that i hope if he does sign a new contract with us, he keeps up his good form because on his day he can be devastatingly good. Of course DM will disagree but meh i dont pay much attention to what he says anymore.

The problem with Rosicky is that hes always injured, yes he offers more than Ramsey but him and Diaby are just too damn injury prone and id like us to replace the pair of them with players who arent so injury prone and are decent.

Id love to see Huntelaar at Arsenal but i cant see it due to Wenger not rating him highly enough. Problem is, as i said earlier in my post...Wenger wont sign genuine world class players who will cost £30mill+, what he will do and has done yr in yr out is to buy mediocre players and get them to sign stupidly long contracts. And when they dont perform, he replaces them with newer mediocre players but the original ones dont get to play and are sat on the bench, getting paid their £50-60k a week and we cant shift them for love or money because simply THEY ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH for other teams to want them:p.

I mean look at Gervinho??, no other big club around Europe was even remotely interested in him until we came in and signed him....theres a reason for that because hes crap, pure utter crap:p
