Just heard on SSN that Squillaci and Djourou may both be offloaded this Jan...yayyyyy if true but i wont believe it till i see it.

Good news if true, now just need to get rid of the other wage sucking rubbish we have:p

Fulham have been heavily linked for a good while now too - and with Riise/Hangeland it could be a swaying point, but not sure if we'd pay the premium in wages etc to lure him. Hangeland has spoken to him and recommended Fulham, though!

Squillaci is down to the end of his contract so should be more chance of getting rid of him and Chamakh, you'd give up 6 months of a higher wage for a 4 year contract, 6 months later you might do your ACL in training or no one is interested. Djourou though only signed a new contract last year, there might be interest but it needs to be interest that matches his wages and I really can't see anyone picking him up.

Remember basically every transfer window from a year after Chamakh joined has been "club x, y and z are interested" and it comes to nothing.

Ultimately I still don't care, bring in..... I dunno, the Dortmund manager, or any of a bunch of other guys and they'd ditch Djourou for whatever it took to get rid of him, then they might be a solid defender as a replacement..... Wenger..... won't.

Lose Djourou bring in Williamson or something else completely stupid, ultimately with Squillaci Wenger has clearly decided he's basically dead to the team and will let him go for anything, with Djourou and supposedly Santos, he still thinks they have value and so will wait till a certain offer before accepting a transfer for them, even then its still a wages issue and if the player will go. We supposedly turned down a 2.5mil offer for Santos already... in reality getting the best price possible is still better business, but 2.5mil for Santos is 2.5mil more than he's worth and that ignores the 3mil a year we'd save for still at least 2.5years of contract.

Problem is Wenger saw something that made him pay 7mil, and still see's something that makes him think Santos is worth X amount and isn't willing to take less, and thats the problem, still, that Wenger can't judge a players ability any more.

Why on earth did Djourou get a new contract last year :(

After seeing traore in the 8-2 match at United, Santos probably seemed a steal at £7m :p
 
Would be delighted to see the back of Cole but there's no way he'll pass a fitness test :(

Joe Cole has signed for West Ham on a pay as you play deal which is expected to cost them £0,000,000 over the course of his two and a half year contract.

Pretty sure Squillaci and Arshavin are out of contract in the summer, so thats £120k+ a week saved.

Looks like we may have interest for Djorurou!

Now to find an exit strategy for Diaby, Chamakh, Gervinho, Santos and the rest of the passengers...
 
The BBC and Daily Mail are reporting that Chamakh has almost signed for West Ham from Arsenal (possibly a loan though)...
 
Should suit Lardarse's style of play, him and wor Andy up front, job done.

Arshavin has been left out of the squad altogether last few games so all the signs are he must be leaving, heck he's played a grand total of 72mins in the league this season. You'd think with all the Russian money floating about his wages wouldn't be that big a deal either. But with Wenger you never know, I was convinced Almunia was going to be sold before he was.
